Well that was a lot more hard work than it probably should've been!

Defensively all over the place, Tunchev had easily his worst game for us so far, the others looked totally out of sync with each other.

Good job Martin was alert, if it wasn't for him we might well have been embarrassed.

Berner, Dyer and King were anonymous.(Even the RL Commentary were 'negative' about Dyer and King today, normally they are gushing with praise for them both)

Just glad we are through to the third round tbh, it would've just seemed wrong to not be there, even if we've scraped through.

When was the last time we had a player score 20 before Christmas btw? Fryatt only needs 2 doesn't he?

Agree with all that. I thought Howard worked his bollox off, there wasn't much he could do. Gave them a real handful.

Full credit to Dag & Red, they actually attacked us for once. That's been a rare sight down the Walkers this season. I always thought the offensive side of our game could step up and it did when required because the back four were bloody awful in the first half and no doubt Pearson had a word.

Through and fingers crossed we don't have to do these two rounds of the Cup much longer. Wanna televised tie against a big team, we won't win it, so might as well make some dough.

I think Gilbert's absence might be have something to do with his date in court.

Oh, the Egyptians apparently started to build their pyramids 2600 B.C. so that was a bit unfair. :icon_wink

Given that D&R played very well I don't think this was a poor result. Our defence was completely asleep for their goals but we stood firm in the second half, and it looked like a game that we would have lost 12 months ago especially as they had that superb Ritchie on the left.

We spoke to some Dagenham geezers on the way out, they (correctly) thought that Howard was immense and that Tunchev was a class apart.

We should look at signing him. Swap kish for him.

Strange innit? I thought that was Tunchev's worst game for us.
Though I do think Howard had a decent game.

That Ritchie lad goes back to Pompey on Monday cos his loan is over.

i was quite impressed with him didn't realise until this morning he was only there on loan

They were impressed with him in Spain as well. :icon_wink

Yeah. Berbatov's next.

Apart from Berbatolv the English-based players came from Manchester City, Aston Villa and Third Division Leicester. There have to be members of this very good Bulgarian team (ranked around 15th by FIFA) who want to come to England.
Steve Walsh went all the way to Bulgaria to watch them ostensibly "to monitor" Tunchev's performance. I do not believe this for one moment. At the meet the manager evening Steve Walsh said that he had been tracking Tunchev for some time. I would hope and guess he is tracking some more Bulgarians.
I am tempted to say they would not want to come to the Third Division but Tunchev did.

After losing 6-1 to Serbia they might not have a lot of choice.
