Agree.....

The early post of 'we have too many midfield players' is bizarre.
We don't have a midfield !! all positions need filling with back-up, Wes and Porter if they play and perform well all season will be a big bonus, they can't be considered as first choice based on the way they faded last season... although that was under super coach Kelly

There was a little bit of sarcism involved in that post.

some people need to turn their sarcasm detectors on.

it's going to take unprecedented activity to fill in all those gaps, which everyone is pointing out.
July, rather than being holiday season, will need to see at least another 7 or 8 players in
unless we have a new 5-0-5 formation that Allen is silently perfecting.
By-passing conventional ideas of having any midfielders, full backs or wingers.
Maybe we could make the Walkers pitch only 15 feet wide, so that our 5 centre backs can punt it to our 5 centre forwards??

What the **** are you on? Do you read your posts before posting them?

Sergio Hellings

You heard it here first.

I ****ing never, I don't read these threads anymore.

It's true.

It's a Don McKay (sp) signing.

This is a boro supporter talking at the beginning of last season.

"Any promising youngsters coming through?
We did win the FA Youth Cup so do have some stunning prospects, Downing, Parnaby and Davies are already first teamers so the best prospects in no particular order are: FA Youth skipper Tony McMahon (attacking right back), Andy Taylor (left back) and midfielder James Morrison and Sergio Hellings if we land him from Anderlecht - Seb Hines, Matthew Bates and David Wheater should be looked out for in about 12 months."

It is someone called Sergio, his picture was on the site a few minutes ago then it disappeared. A small black lad (well he looked small on the pic).

<H2>Ajax let Hellings go

ANDERLECHT have swooped to sign Ajax youngster Sergio Hellings.

The 17-year-old was offered a professional contract by the Amsterdam side last term, but has not had a chance to stake a claim for a place in the first team and has decided to move on.
Ajax coach Ronald Koeman (pictured) was happy for the youngster to leave the Amsterdam ArenA, and terms were quickly agreed once the Belgian champions made their interest known.
A five-year contract is in place, and will run from October 11, 2002 - when the youngster turns 18. Hellings came through the ranks of the famed Ajax youth system, and has gained international recognition for Holland at junior level.

</H2>Leeds eye Boro cast off

By Graeme Bailey - Created on 13 Aug 2004

Leeds United are believed to have handed a trial to Dutch midfielder Sergio Hellings.
The Anderlecht youngster had trained with Middlesbrough earlier this summer and impressed during his time at The Riverside.
Boro made moves to sign the former Ajax starlet, but decided against a deal after finding out they would have to pay around £500,000 for his services. Leeds - who are looking at a host of trialists - are now thought to be running the rule over Hellings.
Anderlecht have told Hellings that he must find a new club by next week or return to Brussels to continue his career with them.

Leeds missed Dutch deal

By Graeme Bailey - Created on 3 Sep 2004

Leeds United missed out on the signing of Dutch starlet Sergio Hellings.

The Anderlecht midfielder had spent time on trial at Leeds earlier this summer, but the West Yorkshire club took too long in deciding to pursue a deal.
Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell decided on Monday that he would like to take Hellings, but by that time both he and Les Mauves team-mate Sherjill MacDonald had moved elsewhere.
Dutch Second Division club Heracles agreed a loan deal for both players and despite Leeds' best efforts - Hellings could not be released from the deal. Hellings had until Tuesday's transfer deadline to broker a move away from Anderlecht for the coming season.
