...he will take the view that the odds are against actually getting promoted via the play offs are not brilliant anyway and not want to spend a good deal. But if he is up for a gamble he might just give it a final go.

Extra money from Premiership ~ £30m
Odds of getting promoted through playoffs ~ 1/4
Odds of getting into playoffs ~ 2/3

Thus, it seems right to spend about £5m on a striker.

I just hope Milan's reading.

Is there such thing as an 'emergency transfer'?

:102:

I've never heard of an emergency transfer - even goalkeepers are loaned not bought. There is no way that Leicester City are going to spend £5m on a striker. Absolutely ludicrous. MM is a businessman and he will have been hit hard by the credit crunch, personally I am glad he didn't splash the cash in January as it would have only ended up as debts on the club.

As for replacing Fryatt .... I don't think we will get anyone from the Premeirship on loan ... unless its for a month and they are on their way back from injury. I believe we will go with the players we have but won't be surprised if an "unknown" youngster comes in - and is that really what we want?

I am as dissapointed as anyone with the situation ... but sometimes situations like this do work themselves out. It is down to NP to solve ... and I guess we will really see if he is a potential high flyer or a low flyer inflated by bits of good fortune. Out of adversity etc .....

PS Get well soon Matty. One thing NP has done is turn you around from your shaky time in our mad manager merry goround.

No it's not. He's a regular starter for Aberdeen.

I heard that he's eating chips out of the paper every day on Cleethorpes beach in the hope that somebody soon will take his photo.

Sorry - I was trying to be a little sarcastic. I do know that there are no emergency transfers. And I gathered we weren't about to spend £5m on a transfer. :icon_bigg

I was just using the same logic that lead to such suggestions as Hesky (sic).

Will £5MM be enough to prise Tommy Wright away from Aberdeen?

I think we could do with getting someone in... don't think Howard's good enough now, and still not seen/heard anything to suggest Yann is either.

In the meantime/if we can't get anyone, I'd go for Waggy with either N'Guessan or Gally. Probably N'Guessan.
Presume you saw Gally's shooting on Tuesday!!

There are some on here doubting loans are still available, well Covscum have just signed Freddie Sears so we are able to get someone (i bet Arsenal or Chelsea have some good teenager strikers we could have for a couple of months!)

What I want to know is are loans still available? I heard emergency loans where only if your players all die, is this true? If so it's ridiculous.

Loans are still available Covscum and PNE have done them in the last couple of days
