Free agents can be signed by a club at any time in the season, if they had been released by their previous club before the end of the transfer window.[15] A club can request to sign a player on emergency basis, ie if several goalkeepers are injured at the same time.[15] In England, clubs from the Football League Championship to the Football Conference can loan in players from 8 September to 23 November and also from 8 February until 23 March.[19] An existing loan deal can be made permanent at any time outside the transfer window.

He scored 15 league goals over four seasons for Chesterfield. How could you argue that's anything other than appalling?

There's no way he'd be more helpful in our goal-scoring problem that if we just played Gallagher and Waghorn up front, or even Kermorgant, probably.

Sorry East Anglia, I forgot that as soon as I said an example Pearson would sign him, he was a suggestion. :icon_roll

Yeah I know. All I was saying was what a terrible suggestion it was.

Why's that? Kermo's a similar age and he's scored more prolifically during his career.

At least Caleb has been scoring in the English league, Kermo as much as I like him hasn't, I do like and rate Kermo and Howard but neither are going to score us goals.

Yes Caleb has been scoring in the English league. 15 goals in 100 appearances in the third tier of English football. What's your point?

Folan, Howard and Kerm not good enough to get us into the play offs. Lets hope we bring someone in that can get 10 goals between now and May!!

His point, I think, is that Caleb is nothing better than we've already got. At least that's what his point should be.:icon_wink

Not on last night's evidence he wouldn't - he doesn't look to have anything like the instincts or anticipation you would expect of a good striker, even at Championship level

No way could he fit into the Fryatt role - Fryatt runs his bollocks off, can spot gaps in the channels and exploits them, and actually knows where the feckin' onion bag is. From what I have seen, Gallagher possesses none of those abilities at all

He played right winger/attacker though...alright he scored three but he wasn't the lead striker like Fryatt would be. There were a couple of balls across the box what Fryatt would have been in and around. However, excellence from Gallacher today. Although part of me says that was because we were allowed time and space on the ball.

Gally has got 3 out of 10 that I was looking for from someone!! Dont think he'll do this again though. Hope he proves me wrong!! Poor opposition today though

if we dont score tonight the calls will be made again! (its time some youngsters were on the bench ie Chamberlain Youseff and id recall Kee)
start to give them 30 mins lets see if they can cause an impact

I'd like to see the young lads at some point but we still have too much to play for in my opinion. Leave it to the more experienced players like Howard, Gallagher and Kermit for now. Waggy is young but is such a talented lad it makes up for a lack of experience.

If the season tails off and we have no chance of making the play-off i'd give the youngsters a go then. I've heard lots of good things about Chamberlain, Yussuf etc.
