Absolutely chuffed to have got through, especially as group winners. More than I expected before the tournament started, so anything else is a bonus really!

Chiellini has apparently been ruled out of the quarter final with injury as well, which should be a big boost.

We weren't great tonight. Ironically after all the Rooney hype, we'd probably have had a couple more if Carroll had started instead (assuming he would've got into the same positions Rooney did of course). We weren't great by any means, but happy to keep progressing 'the Chelsea way' if we have to.

Hodgson right to stand by John Terry.... his experience of covering things up came in very useful tonight for their 'goal'.

Oh, and the best news of all? All of England's remaining games (however many that is), will be on the Beeb. Hoorah for not having to put up with ITV!

Has Ireland's plane landed in Dublin yet?

Plane? We can't afford luxuries like that. The useless ****ers will have to hitch their way back.
If they're lucky they won't get bumraped on the way

Rode our luck, at least we are getting the lucky breaks. Their "goal" would have been impossible to give without goal line technology, happened far too quickly.

Another quarter final, well that is about our standard, isn't it?

I don't particularly like the chap, but last night, before the game, he was the only one talking sense.

Didn't have much to compare with, though, to be honest

What a collection of arsewipes

[h=6]Niklas Bendtner. Replace the word 'paddy' with 'white' on your boxers to ensure you receive minimal Uefa fines.[/h]

EURO QUOTE OF THE DAY

"At the moment we have the best teams here, but there are great teams who are not, such as Switzerland, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovenia and Norway. The Scots are also not here"

Uefa grand fromage Michel Platini defends the European Championship's expansion to 24 teams from 2016 with a cheap shot par extraordinaire.

Grauniad can't even quote its own story from earlier today correctly, where it's some geezer called Martin Kallen spouting that crap.

The Greeks are at it again. Just equalized to 1-1 against Germany. 2004 repeated?
