If Fryatt is out, I would support bringing MDV back. It would help us get rid of him in January as well.

Elvis is never ever going to be the answer at this level.

Although if he is injured I'm looking forward to the conspiracy theories that he's missing the Brum game as he has signed a deal to join them in January :icon_cool

Great idea

Our midfield players are all completely and utterly shite - so let's play five of the useless feckers

Give me strength.....:icon_roll

If that's the case there must be different rules for international loan deals.
If it was a loan between two English clubs they wouldn't be allowed to call the player back before the end of the year.

I've just checked the league rules for loans, and clubs aren't allowed to recall players on long term loans (ie loans of over 3 months), unless the player is a goalkeeper, or unless the player has been sold to another club.
But the rules also state that only players under 23 can go on a long term loan, so the rules must be different when you loan a player to a foreign club.
Anyone know the Dutch league rules for loan transfers?

Feck it then Homer, lets play all the defenders we bought in the summer and forget about the rest!!!!:098:

just one thing we called logan back from a loan deal from boston didnt we

The Logan to Boston thing was very different.
He was only on a short term deal with them, loans of up to 3 months are treated differently - and even if he was on a long term loan we could have called him back, because goalkeepers are treated as special cases.

Despite what many may think, I feel five across the middle could work well, I would actually go 4-5-1 for a bit...

------------------------------Hendo

Stearman--------Macca-------------Kissmybum----------Johannson

Low------------Johnson-----Williams-----Weso-----------Porter

---------------------------Fryatt/Hume/O'Grady/Dodds

Get the ball on the frigging floor lads and push up.

I would go for the following

---------------------------------Logan-----------------------------------

-----------Stearman--------------McCarthy--------------Kisnorbo----------

Hammond-----------------Weso---------------Tiatto----------------Porter

----------------------------------Hume-----------------------------------

------------------------O'Grady------------Fryatt-------------------------

Subs

Kenton
Williams
Sylla
Dodds
Henderson

This would provide a solid central spine to the team which should then allow the wide men to really push on and with their pace should help fast counter attacking football. With the two solid central midfielders working hard in the midfield as defensive cover this should allow Hume to push on in attacking positions but also to drop deeper to recieve the ball and act as playmaker.

I have selected O'Grady as the physical presence and i think if Hume can exploit his pace and power with slide rule passes into the channels we could yet see the best of what COG has to offer.

Don't like it, Hammond on the wing chasing back? Nightmare...

No Hammond on the wing pegging back their full back and forcing their midfielder to drop deeper because of the threat he carries with his pace. IMO our problem over the last 15 or 16 months has been a tendency to select a side to contain the opposition, we need to start playing to our strengths and have a real go at teams, because when we do like Sheff Utd and Spurs at home, many teams especially at this level would struggle to cope with us.
