I really don't think that you can blame Hughes. If a previous city management were daft enough to give him a contract way above his worth, he has evey right to be paid until that contract ends.
Presumably, the current management are not willing to meet the difference between worth and value, that is their choice.

I can blame Hughes. Unless he is educationally sub-normal, it will be very obvious to himself that his contracted salary far exceeds his skill/effort level. Therefore by not reducing his demands he is deliberately blocking a move, ultimately lowering his value as he continues not to play football and preventing the club he contrated to help from moving on and developing. He is being greedy and selfish and exploiting a legal contract entirely for his own benefit, and I do not want to hear any crap about 'if you were in his position' etc. Not all players behave this way.

Do we actually know that the move has fallen through due to Hughes wage demands?
yeah he is one of the top wage earners, well was, so he is looking for something better, of course CL offered him good wage because he was young and coming from rangers, fecking wankker

Don't care about the reasons.

F*ck hughes, you're not welcome at our club!!!

i would of thought hughes would want to leave he must know that the fans think he's crap and he'll never play again for the first team.

money grabbing greedy b*st*rd

I'm not sure that the attitude of the fans is going to reduce the size of the BACS transfer into his bank account.

I wonder these days with the accessibility to all the fans web sites whether clubs pick up the seriously bad vibes about players that they are considering signing.

I say fair f*cks to him.

It has absolutely no bearing on my life or future well being in any way whatever if he sits around picking up his pay cheque til his contract ends.

It's his career & I couldn't give 2 shits. So there.

But if he left now his wages could me made available for a good player who would improve your well being by helping the team to get some wins!

I doubt he's on anywhere near what we are paying the new players. I would imagine he is on £6k tops, whereas the players we are after, Clemence etc would be on around £9-10?

I think we would find it frightening to know what Levein put them on. I bet Rab is on at least 10k and I bet Hughes was not far behind. We may need insight from an Oracle - Jeff or Alex etc here.

Douglas is the second highest paid player at the club on around £11k a week after MdV on 13k a week. Maybury and Hughes are on around £8k I understand.

I wouldn't think so, according to Bill Anderson City fans know nothing. :icon_conf

I'm sure the likes of N'gotty, Clemance, Campbell will be higher paid players then them useless pricks

Nice one, I agree totally. Why would Hughes leave if he's enjoying staying in Leicester with an (apparently) high wage? It's up to the manager.
