Message From Milan Mandaric

Posted on: Wed 24 Oct 2007
Chairman Milan Mandaric issued the following statement to supporters following the news Gary Megson has been granted permission to speak to Bolton Wanderers after protracted compensation negotiations.
He said: "Despite the event of the last 24 hours, it is important that we all remain focussed on our common goal. We must channel all of our energy and desire into making sure that this football club continues to move forward.
"Gary decided that he wanted to speak to Bolton. We have agreed compensation and we move on. This is something that was not planned. We have worked tirelessly to prevent this from happening, but in the end there was nothing we could do. Gary's heart was not in this football club anymore.

"As supporters of this football club I need to ask you to keep believing at this difficult time. Our original plans and objectives still remain the same. They have not changed.
"Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart have been placed in charge of first-team affairs. We must collectively pull all of our efforts together to support them.
"There is an old saying - it's not the loser who goes down, it's the loser who does not get back up again. This football club and its supporters are not quitters.
"We need your support more than ever when we take on Barnsley at the Walkers Stadium this weekend. We must unite and move forward - stronger than ever before.
"I appreciate your support and I will always thank you for that."

JOY JOY JOY

He was ALWAYS the wrong man for the job, and this is the best possiable solution for both the club and Smegson.

thank god last night was perhaps the most miserable I have ever witnessed watching LCFC 11 men behind the ball one shot on target all night no passion no drive no commitment dire!!! Bolton we will see you next year in the Championship !

Megson gone::038::038::038:

I really feel like dancing round the room at this point.

i got a text from my Blade-supporting mate last night

"oh great, Robson keeps his job, thanks a lot"

best thing for the club, stability is good but not with the wrong man. Lets get a proper manager in this time please uncle Milan

What a shister he is. I'm glad he has gone but he bloody well used us.
I wonder how many times he will preach about loyalty to his players.

Anyway so endith another dark chapter in the history of Leicester City football club.

the statement does not say he's actually gone!!!!! just that he's been granted permission.

The writing was on the wall for GM as soon as he joined us. Too many, so called, City fans were waiting like the grim reaper to scythe the bloke down.

Personally, I thought, he was starting to turn us into a team hard to beat, who would go on to better things, but last nights game seemed to show him up in a different light.

If you are losing, time is running out, shove your big central defenders up there and cause a bit of mayhem, don't just accept defeat!!

Whoever is appointed to take this great club of ours forward, how much time will they get, not from MM but the so called fans?

It really is turning into a poisoned chalice.

Peter Reid, John Gregory, Souness, feckin hell here we go again:icon_roll

Well said, though I support Megson's imminent departure. The available managers like the one you list with experience are all seriously damaged goods and as seriously poor as Megson. MM has to take a risk and go for a relatively inexperienced guy such as Grayson or Ince.
