So that's what happened to Russ and Ron Mael.

your wrong they only had 9 men .do keep up :icon_roll:icon_roll

We beat them when they had 10 men - I thought you would be aware of that.

"It was my birthday last week," said Holloway. "I was really pleased with them on Thursday - they didn't show signs of being down. They were listening, they were focused, they were sharp. And then on Friday I thought, it's a little bit quiet. I went in with a CD my sister bought me of the Drifters, so we banged it on the music player and it was very pleasant.
"They were all looking around and suddenly This Magic Moment came on - fantastic, that was my era. It was just dulcet tones around there, everybody was singing along.

The guy's a Loon.

Stolen from Guardian's report on the game.

Quite genuinely I don't care what he is as long as we win football matches.

In spite of the mindless abuse which posters like BG, Melton and myself received in the wake of the priceless win at the Baggies from someone who I had never noticed before on this forum, all i can say is that as someone who lives in the west midlands area, its difficult to describe the relief when we not only win unexpectedly but deliver a vicious kick to their balls by the size of the win and the damage done to the opposition's aspirations.

Currently i want to believe that first of all he has got us playing better football involving creating more chances and then secondly this is now translating into winning a few games.

When you look at the table today you can see how dire our position would have been without those 3 points.

I stand by my view that Holloway's position should be reviewed at the end of the season - but 'review' doesn't necessarily mean he should be removed. Anyway, I am at least motivated to turn out next Saturday, which is quite a change in itself.

:038::038::038: Good post RF.... and as you say reviewed does not mean dismiss.

Top post, Redditch.:038::038:

I too share your sentiments.

Sorry I have had enough of this, its time he went. I have not voiced my opinion on this because I really thought he was going to pull it around. Well he is not capable of it and lets get him out now whilst there are one or two managers out there looking for work.

I don't mean this as a dig at you BG, but I couldn't help notice the distinct difference in posts both Pre & Post the West Brom match. The first quite clearly says you want Holloway removed from his position, the latter suggesting maybe not........? Just wondered which is it to be, or are you going to get splinters up your arse for a while? Go on be brave stick your neck out (again) and say whether he should stay or go!:102:

Were you not concerned after the Saints game that Ollie was not the man for the job?

I certainly was, and still have my doubts. But the turn around in attitude from the players on saturday was plain for all to see. Ollie has gained my respect again, and i have the faith once more he can keep us in this division.

I would imagine that is the case for alot of fans.

This forum goes down hill when people start going back to old threads and picking at them, when at the time they were fully justified.

Lets move on look forward and get behind Ollie. :)

Great post, bearing in mind BG started this thread. If he'd had his way Holloway would have been sacked after the Southampton game which would have left Taggart in temporary charge and I doubt very much he would have steered us to a 4 - 1 away win!

Now he says review Holloways position at the end of the season not dismiss - get your story straight BG.

I think a typical Blue Mongie would have an opinion on something blue from day one. This opinion won't change as it's born out of ignorance and narrow mindedness. The difference in attitudes towards Ollie and Megson being a prime example.

BG is unsure of his opinion on Holloway, as am I, so it is fairly obvious that sometimes he may appear to change his mind.

Also like myself and Redditch, BG desperately wants Ollie to succeed and his emotions will occasionally be swayed away from performance and results.

I think you have to be very ignorant and intolerant to not realise and appreciate this.

Swaying on a regular basis is the same as being fickle surely:102:

I would say that depends on the aggressiveness of your tone. But yes, "swaying" could be construed as fickle if it's done on a game to game basis and extreme in effect.

Fortunately I've never been given a reason to stray too far from the "I'm not sure he's the right man for the job" opinion.
