I think a typical Blue Mongie would have an opinion on something blue from day one. This opinion won't change as it's born out of ignorance and narrow mindedness. The difference in attitudes towards Ollie and Megson being a prime example.

BG is unsure of his opinion on Holloway, as am I, so it is fairly obvious that sometimes he may appear to change his mind.

Also like myself and Redditch, BG desperately wants Ollie to succeed and his emotions will occasionally be swayed away from performance and results.

I think you have to be very ignorant and intolerant to not realise and appreciate this.

That all well and good Melts but it BG we want too hear from :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_wink

I agree. Thats why iv never put my opinion forward on ollie as it changes too often.

Were you not concerned after the Saints game that Ollie was not the man for the job?

I certainly was, and still have my doubts. But the turn around in attitude from the players on saturday was plain for all to see. Ollie has gained my respect again, and i have the faith once more he can keep us in this division.

I would imagine that is the case for alot of fans.

This forum goes down hill when people start going back to old threads and picking at them, when at the time they were fully justified.

Lets move on look forward and get behind Ollie. :)

I certainly was concerned after the Southampton game, concerned for our championship league status that is, but I can honestly say that when looking at the fixtures list and the difficult run in the likes of cov, Scuny and colchester have, I breathed a little easier. Although I have to say I didn't expect us to get anything from West brom, so I expected it to go down to the last day (and it still could)

However, it would be unfair of me to ask someone to stick there neck out if I wasn't prepared to do so myself. Therefore I can openly say that if we go down, which we won't (positive thinking!) I still think that Ollie is the man to restore happier times to our football club.

I think the hand he was dealt ie: size and ability of the squad, has made the task in hand a huge one, and if he stears us to safety, all credit to him & he then deserves an opportunity to build something for us all to be proud of! and if we don't stay up, I believe he's still the man for the job!

He is waiting till we lose to Hull on Saturday, then he'll say that he has never changed his opinion.........'Holloway out'.........and then the next game it will be review time again:icon_bigg

Well I would never dream of best guessing BG, but one thing is blindingly clear and an all too valid cliche and that is - 'Its a results game'.

If Holloway is able to motivate a reasonably well-resourced squad to play to something like there abilities (and wage levels) then opinions of Holloway will go up. So not to change ones opinions in the light of improved performances would be just being a dog in a manger and as stupid as the fixed attitudes of the folk who have been light heartedly labelled 'BMs'.

I would far rather be wrong about Holloway and see us in the present league next year where there is an immediate ladder to the promised land than be proved right by us being in the total waste land of League 1.

I can't say I was amazed that we beat West Brom because I think there is more or less universal agreement that any team can turn over any team in this division. What i am surprised and delighted by is the manner and size of the win. Anyone who has been in anyway associated with a team sport will know that such a performance can bring the added confidence that can turn round a season. Let's hope this is the case.

To think otherwise is being a BM in my book. :icon_wink

I don't mean this as a dig at you BG, but I couldn't help notice the distinct difference in posts both Pre & Post the West Brom match. The first quite clearly says you want Holloway removed from his position, the latter suggesting maybe not........? Just wondered which is it to be, or are you going to get splinters up your arse for a while? Go on be brave stick your neck out (again) and say whether he should stay or go!:102:

I am not sucked in over one win, but I am not so stupid as not to see a very small glimmer of hope. But I am just hoping this is the end of the recent pattern we have produced. Play a good one, play a bad one. Look at the last few results.
Holloway does not have my respect or support at the moment, but that does not mean things can't change. Its all very well talking this and that to the press, but I really want to see the goods on the pitch. I am happy to watch crap football but I don't like losing. I want Holloway to prove me wrong, I really do. This is the first season in god knows how many seasons I have actually not looked forward to the games, and that takes a lot for that to happen.

I hope that has answered your questions, if not fcuk off and die.

Great post, bearing in mind BG started this thread. If he'd had his way Holloway would have been sacked after the Southampton game which would have left Taggart in temporary charge and I doubt very much he would have steered us to a 4 - 1 away win!

Now he says review Holloways position at the end of the season not dismiss - get your story straight BG.

Heineken Pratt, your comments mean very little to me. Anyway its way past your bedtime.
