What happens if they all pick milkshake as second choice?

:icon_bigg It would got to third preferences.... in this ridiculously small sample of eight people

I refer the honourable gentleman to the reply I gave some time ago

The point is that FPTP is only a fair and representative system when there are only two possible candidates.

Neither is being second 3 times out of the eight for example( say beer has 3 seconds and coffee only 1.)

There is no perfect system. The example just illustrates that where there is more than two candidates in any poll, AV is more representative than FPTP

Why didnt they just ask the question "do you want beer or coffee"

Then when the beer voters got the nod then say to which pub?

In the broadcast this is taken from that is what happens. The majority want to go for beer, but they all want to go to different pubs. So in the end they go for coffee. Takes bloody ages to decide.

I want a beer but am having to settle for a coffee as there are no beers in my fridge. What the **** does that mean I am supposed to vote for?

Maybe if 'none of the above' was included as an option, politicians would start to understand what people really think of them and their antics.

Not the Nine O'Clock News did that 25 years ago with their 'Vote NOT' campaign :icon_lol:
