We just don't have an outstanding candidate. @londonfox has convinced me with a previous post that Moyes could be the obvious choice. However, style just doesn't match. We do a hell of a lot worse, though.

Then we have Potter who, albeit isn't particularly inspiring, has 4 Prem seasons experience and he plays our brand of football. Players would respect him.

So many are massive risks that could also really pull it off. the likes of Corberán, Cifuentes, etc.

I just think we need someone with plenty of experience or someone wildly out of the box, like a Cuesta. 4 years as Arsenal assistant manager. They play some beautiful football.

For me, Rob Edwards should be a front-runner. Yes, Luton got relegated but I think he did as good of a job as he could've done.

Do we get a dream appointment? 99% not. Poch, Mourinho...Sergio Conceiçào?

I agree with whoever said we won’t pay compensation for someone, surely. We pocket a few million and go for someone out of contract you’d think.

I think we’ll go for Potter, unless Brighton want him back. It’s no secret that Rudkin is a fan, but timing has just not worked before. And he plays that possession based football we seem to be fixated with.

I’d much prefer Steve Cooper though. He’d be my number one choice. However I’d also be happy with Moyes coming in for a couple of years - just can’t see the club going that direction in terms of playing style though.

I’d take Rob Edwards as well.
Corboran, Carrick, Garcia - no thanks.

If the finances are as bad as some have suggested, £10m is a godsend and could potentially stave off us needing to hold a firesale. Combined with a good manager like Potter available with no compensation this would be good business. I'm comfortable with managers and players alike seeing us as a stepping stone - as Brendan showed, you only get to use us as one if you're successful - so don't begrudge Enzo. It would have been interesting to see what he could do at the this next level, but it just wasn't to be.

Of the available managers, I really don't see why we should be looking at paying compensation to another club. Potter would be my first choice, if he goes back to Brighton we should go for Steve Cooper. Hopefully the club have been prepared for this since the promotion was confirmed and have a shortlist, and have been using the extended time this has been happening over to reach out to the people on it. We need to focus on building the squad now, so a quick appointment will be important so the new manager and that recruitment chap can get straight to work

I'm sorry but ten million is a drop in the ocean nowadays. Sure it'll help a bit, but it's not equal to the chaos it will cause. It's a coin toss situation this (Enzo leaving). It'll either **** us royally, or be a god send. I'm calling tails.

If I've understood the regulations and accounting practices correctly (and there is every chance I have not), that's ten million quid which will go straight on the books. It won't have to be offset against a signing fee or spread out over a few years, it'll be pure profit. It seems that this kind of money is far more important in the world of football regulation than than the other kind

If Maresca was pissed off when he found out about the financial situation at Leicester, just think how he will feel when all of Chelsea's shenanigans finally come out in the next 6-8 months.

As for Moyes, I wouldn't really want him but he would probably do an alright job. I still reckon Man. Utd. got rid of him far too quickly, they'd be in a much better position today if they'd stuck with him, not that I'm complaining.

As for the Potter v Di Zerbi debate, the latter did a bloody good job at Brighton. His critics here seem to have overlooked the horrendous injury problems that Brighton had last season while trying to compete in Europe for the first time in their history.

I want to genuinely know how Chelsea post a loss over 3 years that is almost a quarter of a billion more than us… yet we are the club being talked about for punishment. Someone help me with that.
Rearrange these words into a wellknown phrase or saying:

SIX TOP

Is it TIPS OX? Like a more advanced version of cow tipping?

Maybe Tis Pox, if so I'm staying well away. Last thing I need right now is t'POX.

ITS POX! Run for your lives!

I know this won't be popular, but realistically, we have to assume we're getting relegated and budget accordingly. Saving money to stabilise the finances and push from next season.

No decent manager is going to come up under these conditions.

Whoever the new manager is, he'll will need to work with and develop the youth players.

A few points…

Last season it was all about style of play, and the fact we were winning every week didn’t matter, but now people are happy with Moyes football and it’s all about results.

Also, Enzo is supposed to show loyalty after being booed (whilst pissing the league) and fans on here were calling for him to be sacked… so as fans we don’t need to show it, but he should? Plus, if we lost the first 6 games some would be screaming for him to be sacked.

People do just make shit up and change opinions so they can argue…

Agree with most of this, but not sure the 'people' mentioned in bold are the same people.

I'm one of those saying Moyes would be a decent option because results is the focus. I never had an issue with Enzo's style of play, I'd say exactly the same last season - results are the most important part.

if I was our board, I’d be going for Moyes.

On another note, it’s actually quite nice in a way that our manager is being poached. Can’t remember the last time it happened.

Can’t have been Martin ON can it?
