Bollocks.

If we lived by what the bible says, there would be murders all the time for the most trivial of offence. But it would be officially sanctioned murder.

For example according to the bible, if you work on a Sunday, the punishment is to be stoned to death.

You have to see the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Most of my family are Christians and I am too. Most of what you refer to the Bible is taken from the Old Testament (which is the Bible too).

Don't forget eating shellfish, mortal sin.
Those evil mussel eating bastards deserve to die.

Why do you think He sent his Son Jesus Jeff? If he hadn't we'd have no chance of redemption. All of us have broken the ten commandments. We'd all be dead (spiritually) if it weren't for the forgiveness of our sins by faith in Jesus. Are you saying that officially sanctioned murder doesn't go on now. I'm willing to bet it does.

Granted the old testament is slightly more outrageous in its claims than the New Testament, but the New Testament was created & constructed to fulfil the prophesies of the Old Testament and as such is a load of made up bollocks as well.

As I've posted in another thread, there really is more evidence fore the existence of Big Foot than there is for the existence of Jesus.

If you wish I'm quite happy to concentrate on the New Testament, I can easily deconstruct it & show it for the nonsense that it patently is.

Of course he did f_o, of course he did.
For the record I'm pedantic all the time, I only deal with facts.

Why did he kill all of those people then if murder is a sin?
Also, why isn't he doing it on a more regular basis considering that people are far more sinful in the modern age?

Can we expect God to smite some modern cities at any time soon?[/QUOTE]

It's already happening. You recall the huge wave that wiped out parts of Indonesia. Payback for the Christians that were shot there for practising their faith. :tumbleweed:

There are millions of people around the world who will have lived since Jesus was around, who will never have heard of him, or of christianity. Were all those people doomed to hell because they didn't believe in the right god?

There were four gospels written by witnesses who not only knew Jesus but saw the miracles he performed. The Gospel of Bigfoot I've never seen. :icon_roll

More to the point, can you explain how God sending his son gave anybody a chance of redemption?
I don't mean to be offensive but that is just a load of regurgitated, unconsidered nonsense.

You do not know what you mean by the bollocks you've posted, it is meaningless to you & everybody that reads it.

We're trying to spread the Word Jeff and as for the ones who never had the chance in this life to hear it, Jesus went to Hades and gave them the opportunity to repent. :)

That is different from person to person, a lot of people believe God won't send those people you are talking about to hell since they haven't had the chance to use their free will - to choose: God or no God. :icon_wink

You really are starting to make yourself appear idiotic f_o.

So God is a Christian is he? Not a Muslim or a Jew, Hindu, Sikh, Jainist, Spiritualist, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Jedi etc etc

Okay, I'll explain it like this. Jesus was sent because there was no other way to save any of us. Everyone had sinned (disobeyed God). Therefore everyone had to die. Unless there was a sacrifice for those sins. That's where Jesus comes in. He's the equivalent of the old testament sin offering. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son...

You really need to do your homework f_o, NONE of the Gospels are contemporary & they all contradict each other.

There is no evidence for the existence of Jesus outside of the non-contemporary, made up for political reasons Gospels. Strange considering the Romans were an accomplished bureaucracy.
