What's with all the Worthington bumming on here? I'm sure I remember most people being astounded as to why MM had brought in Wortho, and 6 points from 5 games wasn't exactly spectacular was it?

He seemed to get the players working a lot harder and playing as a team. The performances improved more than the results (apart from the final game, when we already knew we were safe)

They're not talking to him after he made them go to the match yesterday.
:icon_lol:

When I took one of them the other week, the guy in front said "Has she been naughty?" :icon_lol:

The Holloway continuity factor only carries any credibility if you genuinely believe he is capable of performing better.

His record would suggest that this is his level of competence. We shouldn't even be surprised at where we are...

The often quoted Man Utd/Alex Ferguson scenario doesn't hold any water as Fergie had pedigree at a relevent level...

Surely the potential worst achieving manager we've ever had cannot keep his job???

The average supporters's understanding of 'motivation', intrinsic and extrinsic, is somewhat lacking. I'm guessing we don't have many budding Alan Sugars counted among our fanbase.

go on then smart arse, explain yourself.

And it couldn't have been any worse could it?

Motivation is all about judging your players. There's no point harping on about playing for the team or the shirt (as Holloway tends to in public) because if they are not Leicester fans that will not motivate them. They don't care what happens to Leicester City. Their next move is the best way to motivate some, perform here and you can go on to better clubs, slouch around the pitch and you could end up in league one earning less ! The older ones can be motivated by the thought of one last move to aid their pension, or just the opportunity to play regularly, if they put in a performance, but a manager has to stick to his guns. If a player isn't performing then he has to be dropped, even if the other player on paper is worse. We have a big enough squad to be able to do this, yet Holloway doesn't use it. The younger players can be motivated by the thought of playing first team football, instead the chances are they are more likely to be loaned out and if they get another manager like Holloway all that will mean is reserve matches.
Of course the best way to motivate a squad is by playing them in a formation they have faith in. When Holloway walked through the door, one of his first comments was about changing the players to play his way, when in fact he should have been changing his style to suit the players we had/have. Holloway, as of yet, has failed to motivate.

exactly, and IH cannot do that, even at the basic of levels

I was all for giving IH the summer before Colchester and Sheff Weds because the winter transfer window is always a bit of a gamble, especially given how long he had to get to know the squad prior to it.

Holloway didn't miss a pen at a crucial time in the game on Saturday but he has failed after 4 months, with a comparitively strong squad for the league, to give the players an option other than launching it up front.

I genuinely believed IH was suffering from the curse of this club but when it came to the crunch the players and the manager would have the quality to win at home against Colchester and Wednesday. That's all I wanted from IH this season. That would have been enough for me to survive and give him a chance in a long transfer window with good knowledge of the squad to make considered changes.

I want consistency and would be happy with a low mid table finish next season but Holloway has failed to convince me he can do that and does not warrant the necessary trust to spend millions of pounds in the summer. So sack the clown.

Who should come next? Who can we get? Don't know and that depresses me even more than our current position in the league.

It's just around the corner, Biff

Thank feck

Get the clown out now. Put Tags in charge and take the pressure off the situation.

When IH said after the Weds game 'that was the worst game he had been in charge of ', it should have been his last comment at this club.

I think if we stay up he will be booted out but if we go down he will keep his job,as stupid as it sounds
