milan is reading the TB forum to know that nobody likes RK, he is a smashing lad but fecking crap manager, come on milan...... tell rob to leave the big milan house

Milan would have appointed Dowie but the takeover dragged on too long and Dowie went to Cov. Is this a worrying thought. Should we be looking at drawing a better manager..?

That may not be the reason Dowie turned us down. A school of thought is Dowie turned down the chance of working under the 'Director-of-Football' role MM also owns now. Dowie's record so far at Covscum is extremely impressive, I actually think he is a good manager.

There's two golden rules with Dowie though:

1) he always gets his brother a job (as a scout)

2) it goes tits up after the first few months (which should please you Alex)

Point 2 isn't quite true, Oldham and Palace?

Hoddle definitely is Hazzman IMO.

Similar to Keegan in terms of all talk, no medals but he's achieved nothing in the magititude of the quality sides KK developed.

Swindon, strike of luck in a playoff final and then swiftly relegated

Chelsea, considerably average with decent players

Wolves, feckin shite, borderline with us

well dowie got palace promoted and then they got relegated, charlton got him as there manager and he looks like he just fecked up charlton, so i think he had the chance to get us promoted maybe, but he can't handle the permiership,

his brother fukd him up a few times now aswell,

Rob kelly had a great record when he first took over at the club but then he couldnt maintain it and i feel Dowie is going to go through the same patch, when a new manager comes in the players have to perform to show they are worth a spot in the team but then shit happends and then the manager is stuck with certain decisions, for us we have the money and what ever man comes in will know he will have the money to buy a new team. not just one or two players,

what do we think about my point of view??

Dowie would have been manager and kelly would have been offered no.2. The reason Dowie went to Cov is because the takeover dragged on so long. Dowie would have waited but only on one condition. and that condition wasn't an option for milan. so dowie went to cov.

Interesting point of view......

I agree with most, except that Simon Jordan got Palace relegated just as much as Dowie, as Mr Orange Jordan didn't dip in the coffers at all to help their plight.

People seem to think we have a divine right to have a succesful manager and that every Manager will leave their current to join us.Truth is we might have to settle for someone who is out of a job at the moment

And kelly has had sweet fa off the board as well, can't compare him to hoddle, robson or keegan (who won't return to management so shouldn't be discussed). They all achieved with cash, Kelly hasn't had cash, maybe he could do the business with someone who can hit a cow's *rse with a banjo up front. Looks like he's off though.

For the record, I'd have Hoddle not so keen on Robbo but would surprised if either was here next season.

Dickov, while I sympathise and thank RK for the work (especially last term....) I have completely lost it with our club and the state of the team he puts out....

It aint pretty, nobody could argue that but the only names mentioned in this thread that I think anyone can argue would be a definite improvement would be Billy Davies or George Burley as they have consistent records. I don't think its realisitic to expect either at our fair club next season.

Other than that pretty much successful manager = well backed financially.
