No, I don't have a season ticket (let alone 3), and haven't had for a long time. For the last 25 years plus the number of home games I have been able to get to has been limited, and I usually end up seeing as many away games as home ones in a season. I'm not sure that makes me, or the many others on this site who don't live locally, any less a supporter. I do have a club membership, and joined the trust at the outset.
I too "lost" money when the club went into admin - not as much as BG, but I would guess at least as high a propotion of my personal net worth. I never saw my shares as an investment and wrote them off the day I bought them. When the new company was formed there was no way I could become an individual shareholder, but I made a donation to the trust (again with my eyes wide open) to help them acquire a holding on behalf of supporters like myself, which they have done. I pay my £10 a year to the trust, and that entitles me to have an input into their activities and to call them to account if I don't like what they do. It's open to anyone else to do the same. Just like any other mutual organisation.
I never expected miracles, and it was inevitable that, once the initial emotion had calmed down, that their influence would be limited. However the relationship they have established with the board is still more than many trusts and similar organisations have achieved, though obviously less than, say, the Brentford Trust, which managed to buy the club. It is interesting that many of their members are now moaning that they "don't
do enough" or operate in a goldfish bowl.
Maybe there should be some seperate voice for ST holders. I wouldn't object if there was. If enough of them want that, then they should organise themselves to get it. Same for any other group.
The trust has informed people on this board about something it has done. It seems a lot of people don't like it - fair enough, in which case there are three choices - join it, ignore it, or set up an alternative.
