It wasnt a good performance! we were all talking amongst ourselves for part of the game it was that boring

the first half truly was awful... the second half we played better, but there is no way we'll be going up next season with an overall performance like that. i like porter but his freekicks are not up to scratch and nisse is a good solid defender but his forward play is unbearably limited. hume was screaming for an early ball at one point in the second half yesterday and nisse carried on his gallop down the left and lost the ball

I agree about Nisse. He was our best player defensively yesterday, but his forward work is something that needs a lot of improvement.

These are the players we can build a squad around next season: Henderson, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Hume.
Possibly newton, porter, jarrett, fryatt.

I may have missed a couple out but with the rest of the bunch we have we're not going to progress as a club if they are still here next year...

His crosses are awful aswell. I'll add Nisse in to the squad players for next season, but we need fullbacks who can pose a threat in the opposition half. I'm not a fan of Maybury overall, but I think he's more competant going forward than Nisse.

Ha ha ha ha. You are joking, aren't you? He was absolute cack last night. The worse performance from a pair of full backs I've ever seen at Leicester. Looking forward to them both leaving at the end of the season. And people go on about McCarthy. :002:

Just to add to the Kelly debate. I do not think he has a chance of keeping the job now. Too many poor peformances, the players he has brought have hardly torn any trees up. I think his days are numbered looking at MM's turnover of managers at Pompey.

Why? What did he do?

For the past few games (that I have noticed anyway, he may have been doing it longer), he has stomped around on the touchline barking for the sake of it. It just makes him look a tit and the players don't seem to respond to it.

you havnt missed any out you have added 5 players too many mate. if we are going up we have to be ruthless, porter, jarrett and fryatt have not performed enough to be part of this new era.

newton, how can anyone say he should have a squad built arrounf him?

hume, works his bollox off with absolutley no end product.

it pains me about hume but its true, maybe with better players arround him, his determination would pay off.

the two lads at the back are the only people who deserve to wear my beloved clubs shirt.

I think Milans seen all he has to regarding R.K. but if he aint then god help us all, R.K's had long enough
now to instill into these ferkin numbskulls that the ball along the floor, with passing and movement beats the hoof
when your against 6 foot defenders and your strikers (and I use that word loosely) are only 5 ft 5 or is this a mastermind question of the highest magnitude??

i think people need to be a bit more realistic on our squad for next season. If we are going to sign quality in the summer then i think it will 5/6 additions at a maximum. so most of our current squad will still be here.

IMO many of our players will perform much better with some added quality along side them, and our younger players will certainly be given a better chance to thrive. its hard for them to excel when they come into a lacklustre team.

i think too that if we start next season with a belief that we can actually achieve something it will bring the best out of our young squad. being told at the beginning of the season that your just looking to improve on last season is bound to de-motivate younger players from the start.

i also believe we will need a more adept manager to make all this happen. "we are where we are" isn't going to fire anybody up.

I agree with all that.

Kelly just hasn't got the motivating nor communication skills to be a football manager at any serious level.....and that leaves aside his technical shortfalls.

If Kelly is still in charge for next season it will kill off any momentum from the MM takeover. MM's past judgement on managers has not been flawless but I can't believe that he will allow Kelly to continue with his dead hand on the squad.

At the moment, I can see the sense in letting Kelly soldier on. We are all but safe from relegation...and all that is happening is that Kelly is filling a space until the summer....hopefully.

I think there will be more wheeling and dealing than that. ;)

I'm with Feriol on this - the squad is paifully thin on numbers, especially if there is going to be a reserve team next season. Wholesale clearouts and imports achieve little, whereas 3 or 4 canny additions could transform some of the existing squad.

Or does your ;) mean you have some inside information?
