Well that second half was a pretty terrifying example of our lack of fitness and options.
The legs of too many players just went. Where was Barnes and Perez in that second half? Neither player did anything at all. Perez was fairly typical but Barnes really needs to do more.
The change of Maddison for Praet made sense. The other two changes were ****ing ridiculous. I don't care how mediocre Iheancho was, he is a better option than someone that hasn't kicked a football for months. And what on earth is BR thinking taking off Mendy for that serial liability Choudhury? Absolute madness. And a decision that cost us the match because, as usual, Choudhury has no clue where he should be on the pitch and left Barkley totally free.
I can accept that we were below our best. We are missing half our team. I can accept that several of our players are being ridiculously overplayed and are showing the signs of that (Tielemans, Castagne, Evans). However, there is no excuse for some of the others showing no stamina whatsoever. That's just unacceptable from our backroom staff. We employ a small army of them to get our players fit and keep them fit and they're making a right ****ing mess of it.
Fofana the only positive. He looks a true talent. He didn't deserve to be on the losing team.
