...they all agreed on MOTD that it was a good tackle

And we all respect the opinions of those who appear on Match of the Day? Don't make me laugh!

If it had been a good tackle in the opinion of those who matter, it would have been rescinded as other red cards are rescinded quite regularly.

It seems like most of the pundits switched off their brains once Francis touched the ball and never considered that he didn't actually clear the ball.

It actually doesn't matter whether Francis touched the ball or not.

It demonstrates how subjective interpretations can be. Including interpretations from different referees supposedly applying the same rules.

On MOTD, following numerous replays, they called the first challenge a good tackle and the second one a penalty. The following morning on GOS on Sky, they analysed both incidents and said the exact opposite.

The reason that they couldn't rescind the red card was not because it was obviously a foul, but because they couldn't prove that the referee had made a mistake as there was contact. You see them make similar decisions all the time with red cards.

Did you think the Aguero one was a penalty?

Exactly. It can be a foul despite the player getting the ball and it can be no penalty despite there being contact between the two players.

Therein lies the problem.

I don't have a problem with it. Decisions always have been, and are always likely to be, subject to 'the opinion of the referee'.

16 touches inside the box by Jamie Vardy was top for the Gameweek. The Foxes frontman failed to earn any points for the third successive league outing, but looking at the numbers, he’s matched Romelu Lukaku for touches in the box (24), shots (nine), efforts in the area (seven) and attempts on target (four) over that period, though the Belgian found the net on a couple of occasions. Comparing Leicester’s stats to the previous 17 Gameweeks, there’s been a definite downturn in attacking threat. Their attempts (from 13.8 to 11.3), shots in the box (from 8.9 to 6.7) and, perhaps more crucially, minutes per big chance (from 42.8 to 71.3) have all taken a real turn for the worse. Despite conceding just once in the last three, it’s fair to say Claudio Ranieri’s charges have led a charmed life. Leicester’s goal attempts conceded have jumped from 12.2 to 18.7, whilst their efforts in the box against (from 7.9 to 10.7) have also taken a turn for the worse – indeed, onlyNewcastle (40 to 32) have allowed their opponents more close-range attempts from Gameweek 18 onwards, underlining the Foxes downturn at both ends of the pitch
