Nope. It was a league game. 3rd or 4th of the season I think. They hit six past us.

I have obviously blanked the fact that we were ever in league 1 from my mind. I did mean the last automatic promotion from the championship.

The team is still evolving, it'll probably be a few weeks before Sven Knows his best side. I'm not panicking yet.

Schmeichel and Bamba good... the rest poor. Pantsil worked hard to get the ball then gave it away almost every time. Abe also lost everything. Danns was anonymous. The midfield played far too deep and Nugent was completely isolated, forced to chasing long balls. Can't for the life of me understand why King and/or Gally didn't start as the midfield looked like it had no creativity whatsoever. When King came on it seemed like he was too intelligent for the rest of our team as he kept running into great positions only for no-one to pass to him.

Mills...well....awful. Truly bad. Kasper, Wellens & King all appeared to be more vocal with the team.

Still, at least there is a game on Wednesday.

PS. I didn't realise how bad the mong-fest had got regarding Waghorn. Truly incredible.

Apparently he turned down Derby. The running around and pashun made him a hero but maybe turning down Derby was enough to elevate him to cult leg end status.

Who knows how the minds of mongs work :102:

Very disappointed in the level of performance. We were slow and off the pace. Abe was the only one with an excuse as he had only just got off the plane from Japan. I am surprised Sven started him.

Bamba and Schmeichel were excellent. Schmeichel gave out encouragement and grief as necessary, mostly deservedly to Wellens who was woeful, as was Mills.

I know some people criticise Bamba as being too casual, strolling around the back, casually swinging his arms without a care in the world. But he reads the game very well. He never panics. He always controls the ball and looks for a good pass to lay off. Even late on when the ball comes to him in front of his own goal two yards off his line, there is no wild kick. He just calmly dribbles around two strikers and makes the pass out. It is heart in the mouth stuff but great to watch.

Schlupp was always marked when out wide left and offered no support to Nugent. In the absence of Vassell I would have preferred to have seen Dyer injecting some pace and running at their defence.

My thoughts too.

We have the players, we just need to get the team right now.

Very dissapointing performance.

Thought the team lacked any passion and leadership - MIlls has yet to prove himself for me.
Schmichael shows passion, determination and competitiveness and Bamba was immense - they may have scored more if not for him. The others didn't seem to want to be there. Reminded me of the time we got dumped on by Bolton.

Oh well - they still have to get themselves together- it's a new team and they need some time to knit. Let's just put it down to a bad day in the office.

Player ratings
Schmeichel-7- Didnt have to do much but what he did he did well
Pantsil-7-played well defended well ans got up attacking
Mills-4-all over the plce, dedended badly and hardley did anything right
Bamba-8- played really well defeded and attacked as well best player by far.
Konchesky-6- played alright didn't play badly but didn't play well
Abe-5-looked out of his depth gave the ball away a lot
Fernandez-7- same as pantsil
Wellens- same as pantsil
Danns-6- looked energetic but lost the ball a lot but tried to recover
Schlupp-5- looked out of his depth made some really bad passes but looked quite good attacking
Nugent-6- looked average apart from brief spells in the first and second halves

King-7- same as pantsil
Gallagher-6-average but did a good corner delivery
Waghorn-6-didn't do much but did a good free-kick

I am surprised at how generous you are to Pantsil who I thought was poor as was Danns. I thought both need to up their game if they are to stay in the team.
Konshesky did well and I thought deserved a 7.
Schlupp did not look ready for this standard.
I am reluctant to criticise Nugent since he got no support.

We were good at getting the ball but then gave it away again. This was partly because there was usually only one player up front and he was well marked.
On the other hand congratulations to Reading who looked a very good team. The Reading fans were chanting "What a waste of money" which was presumably aimed at Mills but it summed up Leicester's performance.

We got exactly what we deserved.

Waghorn's performance kind of summed up the whole game, lots of huff and puff but nothing came out of it.

As for all this team gelling business, that's just bollocks. These are professional footballers who play together and train together every day. If they are playing in the correct position they will know what to do.

Few who were out there today even knew how to pass the ball with any degree of accuracy. When we did pass it round, it was flat across the pitch or straight to a red shirt.

I agree with most of this. However I have to disagree on Konchesky. Towards the end of the game Manset had his pants down and had miles of space to do with as he wished. We were the better side until they scored, after which they had complete control.

Not easy for Mills, his first home game and playing against his former team who he has left acrimoniously. I also feel that a stark reminder of how tough this league is is no bad thing second game in. For me, King has to play at home, Sven needs to find the right ingredients to make sure King can get on with the attacking side of his play. I'll bet Reading are delighted with that. Feckers.
