Post Match Leicester 1 Nottingham Forest 3

First time I’ve seen teams back off at our goal kicks in this modern era.
It was weird , and quite refreshing to see .

You are hanging on the comments of a tiny number of posters. I wouldn't waste your time if I were you. I'd imagine you've got better things to do?

I will occasionally have a look at the Forest forum to see some of the other sides views, of which many can be ridiculous. I can't be arsed to sign up and waste my breath in replying though.

Forest are a fairly decent premier league outfit now. You should be pleased and hope that you can sustain it.
They will probably. For maybe 3 seasons or so then go down.

Thats pretty much the fate of every club around the middle rank unless you can grab the holy trinity of owners, analysts & coaching/management who all know what they're doing, all at the same time. The Brighton model (Brentford being currently on the step behind them in that process)

Everyone else is ****ed in the end. Best to enjoy it while you can, like we did.

Not particularly hanging on anything dude. Was just killing time in Málaga airport

With yesterday’s results, not too much damage was done with the chasing pack.

Hopefully lessons will be learned.

On an aside, whilst it was absolutely brilliant to win the league, it has left some so called fans feeling a sense of entitlement.

In bygone days, we'd have a few beers, go to the game, win, lose or draw, have a few more beers.
Now it seems we have to win every game else, Joe Bloggs , stands up and vents his spleen to all and sundry, about how crap the manager is, how crap a certain player is etc etc.

It just makes the whole match day experience, well, questionable.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking Leicester’s the only club with that problem.

You are absolutely right about our fans having a sense of entitlement. Vast numbers think all they have to do is sit there and passively watch whatever unfolds in front of them.

Apart from a hundred passionate souls in a tiny area of the ground, the silence is totally deafening. Watching other games on TV, and even Forest at home, the whole crowd takes part in singing and chanting encouraging songs. Our fans might as well be replaced by stuffed dummies.

Our fans entitlement was evident even last season, too good to be in that league and therefore deserved and should easily go up… of course football doesn’t always work like that.

The curse of reaching the summit is that nothing will ever match it…

Anyone who thought that we were too good to be in the Championship is an idiot of the highest order. We proved over a whole Premier League season that is exactly where we deserved to be.

I genuinely don’t think that the majority of our fans are entitled and/or have been spoilt by 2016. Maybe some are, but not most. Most of us just want a competitive team that we can be proud of. It’s the loud minority who last season weren’t happy with winning every game, they had to also be entertained, and those who now see every defeat as a disaster, who for me, create the entitled narrative that isn’t the reality for most of us.

We just knew we'd lose when we saw the huge LCFC badge adorning the outside of the main stand all lit up in Nottingham Forest red for some unfathomable reason. Who's idea was that?

I know what you mean, but I assume it was for Remembrance Day reasons, given that was being recognised that night.

I've made my view on this fixure known previously: https://talkingballs.uk/threads/remembrance-fixture.39980/

Lighting up our stadium in red on the night we played our main rivals who play in red was just about the most stupid thing I think I've ever seen City do. And there are plenty of contenders. I walked around to the main stand and just stood with my mouth wide open.

I'm still far from over the events of last Friday. On and off the pitch.

But did it really matter though? Would we have won if it was lit up blue?

If it doesn't matter, lots of things around the game don't matter. Football is about tribalism.

Why bother playing in blue? Why bother supporting one club?

My evening began seeing someone selling half and half scarfs and I then saw some dipshit wearing one in the kop.

I can't fathom that sort of thing.
