I admit to being totally wrong about Solano: what a right-back!!

He was crap. and probably the reason we played crap during the second half. Pearson had obviously given the other players instructions to give the ball to solano, who promptly hoofed it up the field. Not a single pass, just hoof ball. It was pathetic.

I have said it before and Ill say it again we aint got the quality of players that we need and that includes Solano

I don't think that's fair: McGivern played well. Kermo' looked poor fair plus Wellens and Oakley didn't do enough for me.

Me too!

Solano was just excellent ar right back and I'm delighted that I got him wrong.

On the whole not too bad. We showed in the first 35 mins that we can play smooth and effective one touch football.

I thought that Coventry then bossed the game physically and we are short of a destructive player in a three man midfield. Once they had one the physical battle, the rest followed on.

Brilliant last-ditch save by their jesus-creep keeper from Lloyd Dyer at the death. Keep your nose out of our freaking games, God. :098:

pearson out...

MK you may joke but I feel from half way through the first half onwards, he didn't have a clue. His substitutions you have to admit were baffling to say the least.

I thought he made the substitutions largely to help run down time. To be honest we didn't have a great deal on the bench.

I hope that people aren't going to judge this side by the bench mark of how they might get on in the Premier League. They have done pretty good to be where they are.

In the event of us getting promotion we would have to find some quality from somewhere. Which would be very difficult because established home based players wouldn't be that keen - obviously.

It is going to be exceedingly difficult for whoever finishes third this season to stay in the Premiership: Newcastle and WBA have proved that they are considerably better than anybody else in the Championship this season and so, the third team will be looking for three Premiership teams to out point.

Two of the substitutions were, I thought, inevitable. Salano finds it difficult to last 90 minutes and the way we play Waghorn he is always going to tire well before the end.

I've only seen Newcastle and WBA when they've been on the TV and or at our place.

I thought WBA were super when they beat us earlier in the season, and have always looked 'good' this season. Newcastle on the other hand have looked very average. They're top for a reason though, and I think it's because the league this season is very poor. No one team for me is setting this league alight, and I think whoever goes up will struggle to retain their Premiership status.

Thought this exposed our lack of strength in depth. In the 2nd half the midfield needed strengthening but we haven't got anybody to do it. Gallagher was running the show for the first 30 mins but once Cov had worked that out we hadn't got a plan B. Gallagher and Dyer dropped deeper leaving Waghorn too isolated and nobody in midfield looked to take responsibility. Far too often our only outlet was the long ball to Waghorn. As for Solano he played ok at right back but some of his distribution was woeful. Pearson seemed reluctant to change things when it wasn't working but perhaps didn't have a lot of options.

Solano was clearly given instructions to get the ball forward faster, his whole game changed second half, not sure that worked very well...

Team's performance today for me:

Weale - Had nothing to do, not at fault for goals.
Solano - First half was great, second seemed to be trying to get Waggy away at every opportunity, it didn't work.
Morrison - Excellent distribution, played pretty well.
Hobbs - Played pretty superbly at times, however I felt our back line needed more experience at it's heart when Cov started coming at us.
McGivern - Good performance from blondeypants
Dyer - Arguably one of our better players, whenever he was on the ball there was danger in the air
Oakley - Fairly decent
Wellens - Same
Gallagher - Quality touches, little else
King - If we don't go up, we'll be lucky to hold on to him IMO.
Waghorn - Feed the Horn and he will score...He got but one sniff..Needs better distribution that what he had today.

Please stop this "if we go up we'll be hammered every week" nonsense.

We've been playing fantastic football recently and have some excellent young players in our ranks.

One bad half does not define us as a team.

FFS, some people like to make a lot our of nothing.

I'm pretty sure someone will be along shortly to quote other bad halves we've had :icon_conf

I'm sure Birmingham City had just as many bad halves last season too and they've been hammered week in week out in the Prem this season, haven't they?

Face it, Wolves and Brum never looked convincing last year, both will stay up imo. Burnley would also have stayed up if they hadn't made an absolute joke of a decision in hiring Laws, which every man and his dog knew was a ridiculous appointment.

If we go up and keep Pearson. We will stay up. I'd bet my bottom dollar on it.
