Had Rashford not scored then there'd be talk of him not being ready. He did so many nearly good things but was found short too often for my liking, he would only go if Sturridge doesn't in a sensible squad selection.

I find Woy's system utterly confusing so I can only imagine what it's like to play in. One minute he prefers a pretty lame version of 4-3-3, then he makes a total hash of the 4-4-2 diamond.

It really shouldn't be difficult to pick an England team right now. We've not got too many class players.

The keeper and back four pick themselves (Hart, Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Rose). It's obvious we should then play the holding midfielder as Dier. It's also obvious we play the two best English players in the league up front (Kane and Vardy).

The only debate should be in midfield. It should be Alli ahead of Rooney. It should be Milner or Henderson on the right. It should be Drinkwater or Wilshire on the left.

I'd take Sturridge and Rashford. I'd also take the remaining keepers and defenders (5). That leaves two places for other midfielders. I'd take Sterling and Lallana.

So that would leave behind Barkley, Townsend and Delph.

I'm sure he'll actually take Barkley instead of Drinkwater though.
