Speculation Leicester refused permission to talk to Pearson?

He was a right self obsessed wanker tbh. I think I met him in real life once too, snotty little teenager he was.

Who's M!key2000?

I wonder how Schlupp will get on under NP. NP was always a good advocate of youth (and mixing it with some seasoned veterans) and Schlupp strikes me as being a quite similar player to Dyer who was always one of NP's favourites here. Reckon he might get a good run out under NP.

Manchester United's Martin Edwards got someone from United to put on a Scottish accent and pretend to be Gordon Strachan's agent Alan Gordon so they could speak to Fergie as this below shows.

I wonder who Top used to phone Hull up and ask to speak to Nigel. Perhaps they got one of the staff to phone through saying they were Matty Fryatt's agent

Manchester United's honorary president Martin Edwards has revealed the clandestine approach the club used to secure the services of Sir Alex Ferguson in 1986.

Edwards was United's chairman 25 years ago, while Ferguson was Aberdeen boss.

He told BBC Sport: "I couldn't ring up and say, 'It's Martin Edwards, the chairman of Manchester United, can I speak to Alex Ferguson?'.

"So we decided to get [United director] Mike Edelson to put on a Scottish accent and pretend to be Gordon Strachan's agent Alan Gordon, who knew Alex well.

"So he put on a Scottish accent and the secretary put him through and Mike told Alex, 'It's not Alan Gordon, Martin Edwards wants a word with you'.

"I said we'd be interested in talking to him and that we'd meet him that evening, bonfire night in 1986. We drove up to Scotland just to make sure everthing would be OK before I made the official approach the next day to the chairman of Aberdeen.

The Sun has it as well

NIGEL PEARSON will seal his return to Leicester in the next 36 hours — as Hull eye MK Dons' Karl Robinson.
Pearson is quitting the Tigers to double his money by signing an £800,000-a-year deal with his old club.

The 48-year-old is poised to agree a 2½-year contract after demanding to hold talks with Leicester's Thai owners when their initial bid was rejected.

Pearson returns after less than 18 months, with the promise of substantial funds to boost his squad.

The Foxes must pay £1million compensation — and Hull are willing to splash out £350,000 of that on Dons chief Robinson.

The Football League's youngest boss, 31, led the Dons to the League One play-offs last season.

And Hull could swoop later this week as they want an up-and-coming manager.

I'm still not excited again since Sven's departure but if anyone has the potential to get me slightly moist it's Pearson of all the options. Still only a wet semi though.

I see what you mean FF, and as much as I don't want to get into the entertainment v results argument...I want (no expect) both.

Wanting both is obvious. Expecting both, and subsequently not wanting NP (even though I don't really get the accusations that he plays horrible football), is idealistic and ultimately bollocks in my opinion, as if it came down to it fans would prefer results over 'sexy' football.

I have to admit to not wanting NP back for those reasons and my fear he may tear up the roots of what we have

What do we have exactly?! A bunch of over-paid, under-performing 'stars'?

I bet Stoke fans are really fed up of Tony Pulis and his orrible style of play.

I personally do not understand why it is being suggested that we only played hoofball under Pearson. We played good football imo. Better than the one dimensional no plan B style under Sven.

I'm very happy with Pearson. Was gutted when he left and I consider him still to be the best manager we had since MON.

If some of the callers on 606 are anything to go by, a few of them are starting to get fed up with him - especially after their winning brand of 'ugly' football left them on the receiving end of a 5-0 tonking by Bolton .

Come on then, who was it?

Return to Leicester CityOn November 8 2011, Nigel Pearson agreed to take up his old post at Leicester City. A compensation package believed to be in the region of 2 million pounds for Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh was agreed between the two clubs. In a statement on the Leicester City website, Pearson said: "I can't tell you how happy I am to be back at Leicester, it was bloody terrible at Hull. Have you ever been there? To put it simply, the place is a dump. Also attempting to manage 'football players' such as Dele Adebola was making me lose the will to live. I've missed the fans, I've missed the club, I've missed the players, but most of all I've missed Ian Stringer. What a journo. I've missed his insightful and probing questioning and his twitter updates were the highlight of my day if truth be told. I've agreed to come back because I've been promised ten trillion pounds to spend on players, which I will use immediately to bring back Martyn Waghorn, Matty Fryatt and Jack Hobbs - which should see most of our budget depleted. Also, Top said that he can sort me out with a pre-order of Modern Warfare 3 - they're all sold out at Gamestation in Hull. That was the clincher."
