I bet he does.

May be cynical but this seems like the main reason for Mahrez coming back - to keep Pep interested.

I wouldn't take him. Take the players who haven't spat their dummies. Leave Mahrez for Sheffield Utd.

I’m sure he’s fit enough to play. I doubt he’s been on the couch gorging on pizza and beer for 10 days.
Why do we bother with training at all then?

Is he a complete and utter bellend ?
Yes
Is he the most creative, exciting player we have ?
Also yes
Do we stand a better chance with him in the team rather than out of the team
Of course it's a yes
Is he fit enough to start ?
Probably no, but up to Claude to judge

He plays, if fit
On the bench, if not

And he shall remain a total ****, regardless

great message to send to the squad, if you have the right name you can piss off in a sulk, turn up the day before the game and waltz back into the side, he should be left out to make a point if nothing else.

Also Diabate played really well last week why should he lose out? There is a space on the bench with Shinji out but personally for at least this game I'd rather that go to someone like Harvey Barnes or Admiral Muskwe

I know it's not the main point you were making, but I didn't think he did. All about opinions though, isn't it, but I thought he was sloppy and needs to get used to the pace of the game in the Premier League.

Yes . He had loads of time and space against Posh but Swans were much harder for him.

I said on Tuesday that "Mahrez could come back and show Man City exactly why he was really worth £80m - but he won't." Just goes to show, m'duck, you never know, do you?
So what now - do we wait until we are 2 or 3 up and then bring him on for the last 5 minutes?!

Have a word

He should be nowhere near the squad for this one, regardless of his ability.

I am hoping we have been preparing a bit longer than just today for this game and I don't expect to see this miserable little shit ruining yet more game preparation like he already has done.

Someone else deserves his place in this TEAM, regardless of whether they are as good as him or not.

How do we, or more importantly, how does Claude Puel, know what is in his head?

Assuming he is still 'match fit', and not spent the last 10 days sitting on the sofa eating pizza or whatever, how would he play?

Would he play out of his skin to send the message to Pep, 'I am worth £90million and you should have paid it'.

Would he play out of his skin to send the message to Puel and LCFC, 'I am a great player and you should have let me follow my dream'.

Or would he just get the sulks by being in the stadium amongst the Man City players he wanted to be a part of, and be an unfocused liability.

If he has travelled with the squad I would hope he would issue a statement before the match to the effect of 'I was deeply disappointed not to secure my transfer, but I am now back training with LCFC and I am fully committed to helping them win as many matches as possible for the remainder of the season'. If he does not the media will all focus on him and it could/would be distracting to the rest of the team. Schmeichel says it will not, but I remain unconvinced.

I'm not looking forward to this game at all. I'll be happier on Sunday.
I just feel there will be several things that will wind me up between 5pm and 8pm.

Imagine if it’s 1-1 In the 90th minute and Mahrez, who’s on from the bench, and steps up to deliver a free kick into the top corner to inflict Pep’s first home defeat of the season in the League.

It probably won’t happen, but I bet City fans everywhere would be cheering.......and those in the ground chanting his name.

We'll have the game won well before that.

I'll be at the game, while no-one is happy with what's gone on, I can't see what's to be gained by giving him stick while he's wearing our shirt

It may be more fitting for the fans to go AWOL in their support of Mahrez.

The real winner in all this is Puel. He would have known that he would lose Mahrez in the summer for a decent wedge of money but the sale will be out of his hands. If he spends well and gets a good replacement in he's a genius. If he doesn't then it's not his fault. In the mean time Puel gets time to shape the team as he wants and the fans will direct the blame of any failure in the direction of Mahrez.

Full list of appointments for Manchester City vs. Leicester City:

Referee: Mike Jones
Assistants: Simon Long, Ian Hussin
Fourth official: Michael Oliver

1. Oh dear. Mike Jones is one of the worst refs in the Premier League - weak as shit. His last game in our league was the one where he sent off Chilwell at Chelsea for two pretty soft challenges. Hes chucked cards around like confetti in his last few matches (21 yellow and 2 red in his last 5 games).

2. Oh dear. Mike Jones has referred Man City nine times since we joined the Premier League - and they won all nine. The games he referees of ours do tend to be away matches against the big six.

3. Oh dear. Man City have announced this on the eve of their game with us: http://www.skysports.com/football/n...et-pgmol-to-discuss-lack-of-player-protection
