A lot of the people who have 'bought' clubs have done so by putting none of their own money in. They borrow money to finance the takeover (which has to be paid back - with interest), they borrow more money to spend on players, and they need to be successful just to keep servicing the debt. If you can do that and get promoted it can succeed, but only three clubs can go up each season. Spending money doesn't guarantee promotion, so we really do need to make sure any potential new owner really is prepared to lose their money before they're allowed to take control of our club.

Like Glazer who borrowed against the future earnings of Man Unt in order to buy the club.

I think Glazer is different to a lot in that if they struggled and were losing money, he could find money to keep paying the debts, he has the assets to do that. More worrying would be if some con man without any money came in making promises that were all based on borrowed money.

Didn't Michael Knighton? try to do it with Man U before being rumbled:102:

The fact that MM is happy to talk to Radio Leicester and The Mockery should tell you something. Why would he bother if he wasn't interested? Believe me, he is extremely interested and we are his first choice club to go to.

MM will be here with his millions within 6 months if the supporters and shareholders want him. Wait and see.

However, he won't come here if he thinks we're going down. He wouldn't buy into a club lower than the Championship so we could do with a few results!

Note of caution: MM will put substantial amounts into LCFC (circa £30m). He will also take that and some more out of the club before he's finished. If, like with Pompey, that means leave when firmly established in the Prem - fine. However, if it doesn't work, we could well find ourselves far deeper in the shite than we are now. MM is not a football genius and has made loads of mistakes with Pompey. He has also told porkies to them repeatedly about the amounts he has invested in players.

Personally, looking at the pros and cons, I say go for it.

I would expect during his first 1-2 seasons mostly investments but once promoted he will take a serious cut of sky tv money for himself as payback and possibly money from outgoing transfer fees as well. When earliest possible he will sell the club, the club would have to be in a position where it looks like it will be in the premiership the following season otherwise he wont likely get much of a profit from the sale. If he isnt able to achieve promotion in the first place within 2-3 years I would expect him to sell players again and then sell the club cutting his losses in terms of asset stripping their isnt a whole lot of assets to strip other then the training ground and a few lesser holdings, he could leave us in a worse state but in truth we in a bad state now.

Which is exactly what he's done with Pompey?

I'd rather take the risk than fester at the wrong end of this crappy division.

Well I look logically at our situation and its a no brainer.

If the current board stay which is the probability given that their is no public approach yet, then the future looks like a club always playing safe financially and setting budgets based on conservative turnover estimates this will mean a very uncompetetive transfer budget every season, in turn this will mean attendances will dwindle week after week and ultimately season ticket sales will also suffer. If kelly fails us and we have another relegation battle then dont expect him to be sacked until after christmas again as they will keep him as long as possible to avoid a payoff and the hassle of employing a new manager, ultimately under this board I think we will be relegated within 2 seasons. Their wont be any substantial boost in investment without them been brought out. Expect the ground sharing to raise its head again as well.

Under manderic I am not sure what I would expect but their would almost certianly be a high profile manager brought in as well as a substantial increase in transfer budget this in turn will raise attendances at least in the short term, what happens in the long term will depend on if his plan comes together or not, but at least their would be hope brought back to the club and a feel good factor.

I appreciate and understand both sides of the argument, however I really fail to see how anybody can be seriously be against Mandaric taking over our club.

He has a proven track record with Pompey, granted he did make mistakes along the way but he appears to learn by them and surely his experiences will stand him in even better stead should he end up back in football.

Look at our current plight, 4th bottom without a pot to p1ss in, a sterile squad that appear to be going through the motions and very little sign that if the current regime were to continue that this slide could be addressed.

IMO we have no other choice without the backing of Mandaric we are fecked, the club is dying on it's arse and if we cannot show signs of being able to make progress I am pretty sure there won't be too many of our brighter prospects hanging around beyond January or the summer, then what happens crowds continue to fall and before we know it we are careering head first into the abyss.

Mandaric is our one glimmer of hope that can drag this club from of it's haunches and start to breath new life into it. These next few days, weeks and months IMO could be the most important in our recent history if not our entire existence.

From what I understand about RK's contract, it is impossible to sack him at any time without incurring a pay-off. A one year rolling contract always has one year left to run!

It is a sad state of affairs when all you have to cling to is an unfounded throw away comment in a red top newspaper. I think we need to put this one to bed once and for all it aint gonna happen guys.We have to face the harsh facts in front of us.Last year was a painful experience that questioned the soul of many a city fan and against all odds we pulled ourselves out of the shite.Unforunately it gave birth to another false dawn and realistically we are as bad as we were this time last year.i somehow get the feeling its going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better and i hope its in my lifetime :icon_cry:

Bloody hell. Prozac for Mr Lazzer please!:icon_lol:

What's with all the George Michael!:icon_lol: The casual outside observer would be thinking this is some kind of gay LCFC supporters club.
