Must be better option than Dickov or DJ (should Matt get injured) not sure about Howards back-up (i guess thats where the Kermo/Amoah links come from)

what i'm very happy indeed about is that we will start the game at the weekend with only four of the players who figured in the dismal defeat at stoke that saw us relegated. Those are Oakley, Mattock, Howard and Fryatt. Four of the only players i think the majority of the fans would have kept from the relegation season.
Weale, Morrisson, Tunchev, Hobbs, King, Wellens and Dyer have been added in a very ordered way and each are very comfortable in their positions. They represent much more of a TEAM than Hume, Worley, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Stearman, Bell and Hayles ever did. Of that lot, only Stearman has gone on to any sort of success - as he was oftern tipped to do. The others have plyed their trade at other struggling clubs and been very obscure.
Pearson only needs to finish mid table to really have achieved a great turnaround for the club and put us in a strong position looking forward both financially and in terms of standing within the game.

Very well put. And Fryatt is a different player entirely now as well.

Champagne! Champagne for everyone!

I think you'll find we actually got a 0-0 draw, not a bad result against a team who got promoted that season, but ultimately not good enough to keep us up.

Because a certain Nigel Pearson got a 3-2 win for Southampton that day that sent us down. If they had drawn or lost that day we would have stayed up.

The guy owes us big time!

:icon_lol:

As I remember, we played well against Stoke - I think Gareth MacAuley hit the post at one point. Just think, 1 goal would've kept us up. But then again, what state would we be in now?

my mate knows martyn waghorn quite well, he says he's shit hot.

Could you find out how big his schlong is?
I get the feeling he's not very well hung, but it'll be good to get some confirmation on this.

I feel a thread coming on...

WHAT IF.... MacAuley's headed had gone in.

Haha im gunna do it.

haha ive relived that painful moment on youtube a fair few times.... and thedefleced shot by HUUUME!!! nightmare day!!

Waghorn looks like a decent prospect seen him play and he looks good. A good addition, the youngster loans paid dividends last season and I would be delighted to see us follow that option again with 'Waggy' and maybe one more...that would do us nicely.

He is hopefully good but surely if he was "outstanding" he would have followed the "blackcats superstar kid" to Ipswich, Keane must know him better than NP.

Bruce may have felt he would do better under NP than dogwalker.

Why is our OS so shit. If the club read this then can you please employ someone who can break news to Leicester fans from the Leicester website, instead of us having to go on other teams websites to see that we have signed a player. The OS is shite LCFC, now do something about it.

still nothing on the os

Nothing on Sunderland's official site either.
So it probably means the move hasn't been completed yet, maybe he's got to have a medical first and it will be officially announced when that has happened.

There's a press conference at the club tomorrow (just the normal pre-match one), maybe we'll get to hear more then.

Just heard on Five Live that the Darren Bent transfer has officially gone through so if that was part of the hold-up, which I doubt, it should be all systems go now.

It's most likely what Jeff said.
