I'm not sure what the meaning of the Stearman comment was. Was Orifice saying Mattock will be a success? Or that he'll have a chavvish haircut and inexplicably moisten the kex of equally chavvish teenage girls?

I admire Nigel Pearson in the way he handled it....The little feckers doesn't want to be here so why try to change his mind,only to have another request via Milan Mandaric this time next year....

Player who had grown up around the club, sold the idea of playing for Leicester to a couple of other signings, was gutted when we went down and was sold rather than asking for a transfer. And then seemed regretful, despite going on to what was obviously a better team.

Might've been a bit of a wanker on and off the pitch 3 years ago but other than that, I'm struggling to make the comparison, to be honest.

There is no comparison between Stearman and Mattock IMO. Regardless of his antics off the pitch and thinking he was a billy big balls (which at his age and with his money I am sure most of us would have been the same) Stearman was one of our better players in recent years. Didn't ask for a transfer (where as Joe handed in two in twelve months), was very consistent and gave 100% in most games, Mattock has been living off 3 or 4 good games as 16 year old under Nigel Worthington, then has the nerve to hand in two transfer requests and then make jibes about moving to a club with better players and play better football, pretty hard to take from a player who was one of our poorer performers last season and a supposed life long fan.

Stupid, naive comments and distinctly lacking in class.

I met Stearman a few times in a "professional" capacity and also in Mosh on a Tuesday night. Always seemed like a decent guy willing to have a chat (and a picture taken on my mobile phone! ha!).

Big gamble from Mattock IMO, Di Matteo over Pearson. West Brom undoubtedly will offer more cash but wouldn't be surprised if Nigel wins out at the end of the season.
