I actually had a nice chat with him at Bristle. He, unlike Newton, is a nice chap at least. I asked him why things hadn't gone that well for him at the club, especially after his great start - he reckoned it was mainly due to being played out of position, i then said 'Oh, on the pitch you mean?' He didn't laugh......I wandered off chuckling a little.

Class Alex!!! :038:

Hahaha.

Does Maybury do odd jobs for the managers or something? First Levein took him to 2 clubs, now Kelly wants him again?

Oh well, as long as somebody takes him off us!

Maybury was good at Hearts and when he first came here

Strange player. Where did it all go wrong for him? He was quality for that first six months, got involved, attacked well and looked like a really good championship Right back.

Then he just turned into a lazy, cant pass, clueless hoofer.

Rob Kelly's coaching??

Rob Kelly's coaching??

but he was a "smashing lad"...

and a serial tag-along with managers - bit like Peter Taylors bit on the side Junior Lewis

Anyway, It's good to finally see some of the dross players slinging their hook - either signed away or not. I'm sure their presence at the club really brings the focus and morale of the players and the management down. Perhaps they would all like to go and play for Luton in the free time they've just been granted - ungreatful sods

Not quite. Since we had no wide right midfielders, he was shoved there and Stearman put in behind him. Unsurprisingly, with two right backs, we were good defensively down that flank. And, to be fair, 2 years ago, when Stearman did the overlapping run, they worked reasonably well in getting the cross in from the right back. But Maybury was always really a stopper more than a creative player so it's no surprise he floundered further forward.

No thats not right. The majority of that first six months was spent with Gillespie in front of him. He played at RB. Stearman only made the break through towards the end of that season.
