I don't think the Gays liked Hoddle either. He wouldn't have been poplular here if he upset the crips and the bummers.
But where did he stand on not-rights?

I am delighted to announce the managerial appointment of Gary Megson.
Gary brings with him a wealth of experience and an unrivalled track record of success in the Championship.
Frank Burrows and former City favourite Gerry Taggart will join him on the first team coaching staff at the Walkers Stadium.
No matter who I appointed I accept it would not meet with universal approval.
But following the premature of Martin Allen it was imperative I appointed a manager I felt brought with him the necessary skills to get this club back on track.
I have made it clear I will not tolerate under achievement at this football club and will do everything in my power to ensure the objective of securing promotion to the Premier League is achieved.
Sounds to me that MM has defo brought in Taggart. He keeps dropping us little hints as to why Allen was sacked, i really would love to know.
Anyway up the City
