Someone started a poll here a few days ago, and the majority wanted Kelly to stay. Fans were singing Kelly's name during the match yesterday, and I didn't hear any chants for him to be sacked.
So if the FT think Kelly should stay it seems they're only reflecting the views of the majority of supporters.

Of course. Just to confirm the situation....can we have a vote at the next home game please? And will you or I order the taxi for Mr Kelly?

POMPEY SCANDAL

Russian saviour hasn't bought club

Manadric still owns half the shares

His Leicester takeover is at risk

A news of the world probe reveals the man who the FA think had brought the club earlier this year, Russian buisinessman Alexandre Gaydamark, has NOT completed the takeover.

Amazingly Milan Mandaric still owns 50 PER CENT sake in the club. And the bombshell threatens his planned £25 million takeover bid of Leicester. Walkers Stadium directors had no idea Mandaric still had such a huge stake in pompey - and were stunned when we brokle the news to them. Our revelations will send shockwaves through the FA. Manadric declined the comment when we confronted him but a close friend said: It is true Milan is still owed a significant amount of money from Alexandre Gaydamark....

The FA are now bound the launch their probe.

A foxes insider said: "This is unbelieveable. It is very embarrassing that the news has been made so public so late"

(transcribed by someone else on another forum)

What has MM owning half the bottles of Japanese spirits in Portsmouth got to do with the price of fish?

Why would Mandaric not have a bank account in this country - or is he trying to avoid paying tax here?

Unsurprisingly, the goal is to avoid Capital Gains Tax on the sale of the shares. A UK bank account might help swing the Inland Revenue's decision as to whether he should be considered resident here and thus liable.

Oddly, for one of the Portsmouth companies, he gave his address as the UK (again furthering the Revenue's chances). The other gives the US - it looks surprisingly clumsy.

Generally, as a US citizen he is liable for US taxes on his earnings wherever they occur - so the US account bit should be irrelevant. Especially since he is going to be under a degree of suspicion after being named in a tax-avoidance scheme.

Just want to sum up what I have read in todays Telegraph in contrast to the News of the World:-

Discussions were apparently held with Milan on Friday in London and he is going to make his firm offer tomorrow (I should imagine this will be the much spoken about offer document) at the club's Annual General Meeting.

This is obviously a lot less far fetched than the News of the World's 'reporting' but equally who is to say what is right or wrong at this stage. The article also mentioned that an unnamed club insider has commented that the process is close to completion.

Personally I choose to believe Newts, but I just thought I would put this out there. See, it isn't all doom and gloom.

Unless this is newts with a different name, someone on foxfanzine has also heard that the deal is done: link (breathe deep Foxes Trust haters, there is a reply from them).

The role of an accountant is to make sure you pay the least amount of tax possible. Thats what we pay ours for. If MM is juggling things around to pay less tax good for him.

I think the FT need to remember that they play a very small part in this. I can't remember the actual percentages but the major shareholders have most of the power. Is it possible that the board (with their shareholdings) can make the decision? Maybe you got left behind FT.

Carry on staying defiant to the last, it won't help.

Perhaps they didn't get the memo:icon_lol:

The FT have hardly helped their selves here. They have made so many arrogant sounding posts and been so childish bout the whole thing. fingers crossed for MM:038:

The board don't have enough shares between them to make the decision.

They may believe they have enough shareholders backing the bid to be confident that it will go through, but if that's the case it's still not right to say MM has bought the club until a formal offer has been received and accepted by shareholders - and if that happens, we'll get to hear about it - just like we got to hear about the shareholders meeting a couple of weeks ago.

A lot of anonymous 'insiders' have been giving us conflicting stories over the past few weeks, but as we've seen in the past even people inside the club often don't know what's really going on.

I spoke to Newton yesterday as i sit behind him. He seemed adamant that his (reliable) contact was telling truth. If you remember the shareholder that came out knocking the bid was done through the press. This is from a TB poster with a very direct link to an authorative figure. I know who i trust.

May be the board made some conference calls to the other shareholders and got feedback. I know nothing is concrete until the vote but i'm pretty sure i will go through now.

What is interesting is that the Telegraph seem to think that there is an AGM tomorrow.

I feel also a little more inclined to believe this than the News of the World for one simple reason...

They mention in their article a 'club insider' who commented that the deal is close to completion. This club insider is unnamed but you only have to look at the previous page to see who it most likely is. I'll give you a clue...he writes for the telegraph every week, is an LCFC board member and scored a lot of goals for us in his day...

Ladies and gentleman everything points to it being our one and only Gary Lineker.

If there is a meeting tomorrow I think it is probably the official public stamp for what Newts has been saying all along. This is a done deal.

And I don't doubt you Newts. Thanks for putting your neck out there and potentially facing stick for telling us what you have heard. You never had to but you did so thanks.:038:
