I find this constant "my leaks are better than everyone else's leaks" that has been going on over the last few weeks profoundly depressing. Discussions on here have gone off at all sorts of tangents on the basis of "insde" information that has proved to be wrong, inaccurate, irrelevent or whatever.

If board members really are divulging information from their meetings, board papers, or whatever, then they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. And their position should be brought into question, as they are clearly breaching their duties as directors - especially if, as we are now being told, one of them has said "you can publicise what you like about the confidential information I have passed on provided you alter one detail of it". I spend much of my life as an "insider" in all sorts of situations, many of them of greater moment in the great scheme of things than this one. One whisper or hint would see me out on my ear.

It may be a bit of fun to us on here, and understandably we are all itching to know as much as we can, but many corporate discussions have foundered as a result of such actions. We all claim to love this club with a passion, yet seem quite happy to put at risk a very delicate process that will have a profound effect on its future for the sake of prurient interest or point-scoring.

Perhaps everyone on here who is, or claims to be, an "insider" or privy to confidential information, should show a little more self restraint.

End of sermon

Hear, hear. Its the old heads that talk sense again.

The FT have confirmed that there is an AGM tomorrow, however a bid document is unlikely. Maybe the board might just indicate what will be in the document.

FT when the document comes will you drag your heels for the full 21 days till you make your No decision?

Trouble with you 'old heads' and your leaks is that they get you up in the middle of the night. There is also the dirty business of incontinence pants to contain these leaks.

;)

What is interesting is that the Telegraph seem to think that there is an AGM tomorrow.

I feel also a little more inclined to believe this than the News of the World for one simple reason...

They mention in their article a 'club insider' who commented that the deal is close to completion. This club insider is unnamed but you only have to look at the previous page to see who it most likely is. I'll give you a clue...he writes for the telegraph every week, is an LCFC board member and scored a lot of goals for us in his day...

Ladies and gentleman everything points to it being our one and only Gary Lineker.

If there is a meeting tomorrow I think it is probably the official public stamp for what Newts has been saying all along. This is a done deal.

Lineker isn't on the board is he, though? And the AGM occurs every year - being Annual and all that.

I would think that Gary Lineker is probably very close to the heart of what is going on. You could be right though. I am not sure if he is on the board. But he is a shareholder and I believe he does hold an honorary position.

And yes of course the AGM occurs every year. It wouldn't be annual otherwise. My point was that someone has told the telegraph that they expect the deal to be discussed, possibly rubber stamped at this meeting. Possibly Gary but who knows.

He's not a director but he may well be kept informed, that's true.

Obviously the deal will be discussed. But rubber stamped - as in the 90% agreement that Mandaric wants - that's pretty much impossible.

Either way, I am fairly sure we will get a good indication as to what is going on tomorrow. That has to be better than all of this speculation...surely.:icon_lol:

I think the FT need to remember that they play a very small part in this. I can't remember the actual percentages but the major shareholders have most of the power. Is it possible that the board (with their shareholdings) can make the decision? Maybe you got left behind FT.

Carry on staying defiant to the last, it won't help.

The board only hold about 38% of the total shareholding between them, so no they can't make the decision.

They can put forward a recommendation to shareholders.

With our shareholding alone we couldn't block the deal no, but we hope when the official bid document arrives it is one that is good for the long term future of the club & in that case we would fully support it, we will wait & see.

translated to ..... we hope the others decide to block it or else we could be out on our ear! Let's wait and see and keep our fingers crossed that MM's bid has a couple of holes in it

why are people getting annoyed with FT?

Its not there fault they cant give out information or its taking time, if you buy a house you dont buy and move in 2 weeks it takes time, first of all there has to be negotations and an offer made if it hasnt been done so already am i right :102:

besides i think we should be concentrating on the matters on the field rather then off we are doing crap in the league us fans need to stick together and help and try to save our club from the drop, money doesnt always equal success (PT@ylor) lets get behind the team and hope we avoid relegation and move up the league, besides 3 wins ina row most you fans will be singing rob kellys blue and white army etc and think we can get play offs.. concentrate on the field!!!

No, our intention is to examine it & generate a simplified summary & then hold a members meeting.

We already have a room booked for this purpose & a notification letter to members ready to send, however we await the formal document before we can start the process.

The decision to back or not depends on the content of the document & the context of what LCFC would face if the bid didn't go through.

No, so far the recommendation from the board was to take the interest from MM to the next stage (ie due diligence & formal bid), which all shareholders backed at the EGM.

The board did not recommend accepting a offer, well they couldn't because legally we still haven't received one.

div1 football next season :102:

As long as the bid is not a silly one with loads of risks then i can't believe anyone is going to be as stupid as to turn it down.

It's ok as well sayin concentrate on what is going on on the pitch ... WE ARE. On the pitch we are a very poor side facing a real threat of relegation. We have a honest manager but maybe not the right manager. We don't have a pot to piss in, poor squad etc. The only way we can see out of this is uncle Milan digging us out the shite. these are pretty desperate times
