And it goes on to say:
Mandaric made his first trip to the Walkers Stadium since takeover talks started when he watched the 4-1 home defeat by Sheffield Wednesday.
The setback, which means City have taken just one point from the last 18, underlined the urgency of the financial backing for City boss Robert Kelly that the takeover will provide.
Mandaric said: "I think the manager needs help to bring in new players, but I was impressed with the attitude of the players, especially with the referee not helping them!
"My experience tells me the squad needs the addition of some experience to help the good, younger players. The manager knows that too, of course, and is obviously doing his best under the circumstances.
"It was also good to see that, clearly, the players were all playing for their manager, and I thought that was a very important point."
Mandaric's £25million takeover is still going through legal processes and the plan is that, all being well, he will be in place to help boost City in the January transfer window.
His visit to City was a clear indication that things are moving in the right direction.
