The 2 hour extension mentioned in the article isn't possible for international transfers which needed to be completed by 12. this suggests that somebody at the club and/or the Mercury doesn't know the rules. if this is what happened then the deal didn't go through in time.

Edit: re read and it says the Silva deal was completed in time, not sure what these formalities are though as all paperwork must have been completed by midnight. If it was done before the Drinkwater deal why wasn't it announced? something doesn't add up...
