New ex-players (and managers) thread

To the surprise of no one, Maresca couldn't out-Pep Pep.

Dull game. Man City never really had to get out of 2nd gear.

Unbelievable he's their captain after the incident over the summer. Poor message to send.
At least it was an honest message though :

" All those signs around the ground, placed for the TV cameras, banging on about racism & how it won't be tolerated. All just PR. But then we're sure you know that.

If you're valuable to the club, you can be as racist as you want. Just give out a sob story about being badly advised or easily led or some stupid shit nobody believes. We'll fine you a few pence & send you on an awareness course (or some shit) Then we'll make you captain.

Of course, if you're a third choice full back we're looking to get rid of anyway, then obviously we'll fine you a zillion pounds & make sure the TV & the papers all know we're throwing the book at you as we won't tolerate such things at our decent family club. That's the rules. "

So yeah.

Maybe football could come up some other token gesture to sort out Gaza and bring about world peace?
I think this very forum has found the solution.

Israel / Palestine is basically just a larger scale version of the Pop / City Fan dynamic.

They need to just **** & get it out of their systems.

Came across this in the Athletic earlier. Truly surreal.

Not really.
I've watched a lot of Atalanta over the last 4/5 years. What Gasperini has built there in the last decade, from almost nothing, is truly remarkable. & even more amazingly it's been done by producing a side that are exciting to watch rather than dour pragmatism. It's basically what we should have gone on to do after winning the league.
Lookman was brilliant for them last season. Maybe if we hadn't had a **** for a manager he could have been here instead.

TBF, Rodgers wanted him back, but we couldn't afford him. Hence signing no one that preseason.
