Carlos Corberan or Michael Carrick would be fine by me.

It will be Richie Wellens. That's the word on the street.

I don't know anything about him as a manager, but if they're going for him as an ex-player then I wouldn't exactly say he creates a warm fuzzy feeling in our fans, does he?

For me, he wasn't one of the worst players we had in that period but is a player I think of when I think how we just plodded along in the Championship doing nothing for years.

Have I mentioned how much I hated our last, long spell in this league?

The clubs changed so much since Wellens was here I'm not sure what value there is in him 'knowing' it. That said, we need someone to clear out a rotten culture and build a new one, just as Pearson did when we went down to League One. I don't see anything that suggests that Wellens can do that, but I suppose I would have not seen anything that Pearson could at that time.

A dreadful hire if it happens.

The real issue for me is that looking at the history of management hires over the length of KP's ownership, I see nothing suggesting that they've very good at picking them. Pearson turned out to be an incredible signing but he was originally appointed by the previous regime, Claudio was more of right place-right time, and even the biggest Rodgers fan would have to concede that we got no more than was on the tin when the going was good. Against that, you've got Svenis, Sousa, Shakespear, Puel, and the farce of sacking Rodgers too late to get a decent replacement instead of Smith to the end of the season

Marsch has been linked with the manager's job at Monaco. He's also thought to be waiting on getting the American team's manager job.

Given what has been said about bookie's odds, that list many not even have the name of our next manager on it.
