Can't say I'm overly impressed. He couldn't score in 77 minutes of action against Yeovil Town. Maybe the speculation is getting to him. While I thought he was excellent against us last season, is he really worth over £5 million? No other clubs seem to think so.

He's scored plenty of other pre season goals. Our strikers have hardly been prolific in pre season, well aside from Steve Oakley :icon_wink

Watching yesterday's game, for me, showed that we need to return to 442. Hard to compare a game v Valencia to our opener vs Coventry, but we seemed to have one 'spare wheel' in midfield at all times whilst being short out wide and up front alongside Vassell. Still some thinking for Sven to do on how to have king and wellens whilst still protecting the defence, and having Gallagher in the side whilst having pace out wide. An interesting conundrum.....which IMO will see one of them fall by the way side.

i couldnt agree more with those comments sparky whilst we looked quite solid at the back, i just couldnt see any big signs of danger up front with Vassel up front on his own ,i just coulnd see a gol coming at all 442 for me too

If it was 4-3-3 Vassell should not have been on his own. He should have had a winger either side of him! Or was Sven playing 4-5-1?
