Expect Preston to fall apart now, highly likely that a number of their key players will now be tempted to leave, expect the predetors to be circurling for the likes of Nugent, Nash, Davis, Mawene and Mears.

Huge blow for Preston.

Official announcement at 11.00 press conference

We had Mawene on trial prior to him joining PNE. MA saw nothing special in him.

Didnt fit into Micky's age profile, ie he could walk unaided and was also available monday mornings for training rather than the majority of the squad who could be seen hanging around at their local post office awaiting their pension !!!!!!!!

I saw him play for us when he was on trial in a friendly at Barnsley (I think); he looked poor in that game IMO; but he has certainly done well at Preston.

Due to him having a very good manager. I worry Derby will be very strong soon....

When I watch Big Brother i get especially turned on by Richard. Not sure why, but he really makes me want to knock one out

FFS HF, PLEASE.

If Kelly had not produced the results last year we would have ended up with BD. I hope he does not go on to be a real success story at Derby.

I think he will be. All we can hope for is that RK carries on the great work he started last season. Let's worry about LCFC and let the rest get on with it.

If Kelly had not produced the results last year we would have been relegated

Davies is a very good manager and no doubt had PNE given us permission to speak to him, when we approached them, then he would be our manager, however we have RK who was given the job, not because he was cheap, but because he produced the results on the pitch and thoroughly deserved to be offered the position full time on merit.

There are no gaurentees in football and whilst Davies has a proven record at this level it doesn't necessarily mean he will be a success at Derby. Kelly can have just as much an influence and success at Leicester, as Davies has enjoyed at PNE.

Huh? What did Davies actually achieve at Preston? I hope Kelly does better than that :icon_wink
play-offs in successive seasons with average squad?

Dont be silly, two years running in the play offs, with a side that at best is mid size, nowhere near the budget available to many of the managers at that level, average attendences of circa 14k and having to sell a number of the better players, granted they failed at the play off stage, but bearing in mind what we, Leeds and Wolves have achieved in those 2 seasons, aided by parachute payments and a squad with premiership experience then I think he can be proud of his achievements.
