Your inability to see a good manager on the basis of one game is laughable.

Would you like to re-phrase that?

There is no way that I can see a good manager on the basis of one game!

The sentence you refer to is "Lennon was at Leicester’s game yesterday to watch the likes of ex-England striker David Nugent, who scored in his side’s 3-1 defeat." You've taken this to mean "Nugent is off to Celtic", ignoring the rest of the story, even the preceding sentence: "Parkhead manager Lennon, who won two League Cups as a City player, will figure prominently in their plans for Pearson’s replacement."

I would suggest it's far more likely we'll take their manager than they take any of our key players. Celtic may be champions but they're still an SPL club. They're the biggest club in Scotland. That's like being the world's tallest dwarf.

If Lennon was scouting, it could easily have been the Watford players as they are on loan there and won't be next season due to the rule changes

We wouldn't want Neil Lennon ahead of NP, seriously???

I'd feckin hope not. As much as I liked the bloke as a player, he hasn't done much to prove he's going to be a great manager.

To me stability is the key, so I would stick with NP

However if the owners decide to make a change, they need to bring in someone who can work with the current squad of players, with a few small additions, as there will be little or no money to spend due to Financial Fair Play (and we may have to accept many of our best players being sold). So you need someone who knows the squad/club reasonably well & is used to working with a small budget. The answer to that question rests a few places below us in Chris Powell (if he would come)

They beat Barcelona, ergo he's the best thing since sliced shed.

True, I supose that does sway things a bit. I may even choose to ignore all their other results over the past season, by doing so they had a perfect record.

If we sack Pearson I will be a bit pissed. We need to stick by our manager and team. Sir Alex said to the Man U fans the other day, have patience with Moyes if things don't get off to a flyer as the management were with him when he first arrived at the club. We need to keep the manager and try and keep the core of the players we have and strengthen for next season. I think this could be a bit of a long process but we will get there eventually. Who needs the Prem anyway, with games like yesterday the Championship is where the action is at...!

For me Pearson has to go, the team has fallen apart since January and moral will now be shot to pieces. I don't think Person will be able to pick them up after this, he struggled after a purple patch in Feb/March.

I've not seen any improvement in players under our current coaching staff, in fact some of them have gone horrifically backwards with no sign of playing well again. Too many players are out of form.

Ian fecking Holloway!?!? Lunacy of the highest order.

He may be Ok for a small club punching well above their weight but have you not seen how poor Palace have been!? They've been one of the only teams to be worse than us in the second half of the season.

Then there is also the very small fact he got us relegated to the third tier for our one and only season there when we were much higher when he took over.

I was fairly relaxed after yesterday's trauma but suggesting Ian fecking Holloway has got me as pissed off as yesterday afternoon at about 1415. They guys a clown, overrated as he makes simple people laugh in his interviews and was our worst manager in the past 25 years.

Why the **** would we want to go back to that!?!

Not the worst manager we've had in 25 years at all. We were extremely unlucky to go down that season and the blame does not lie solely at his feet. Palace were not worse than us in the last stage of the season. We were above them in January and they finished comfortably above us. I knew that suggestion would gain this kind of reaction from a large swathe of the supporters who can't see past our relegation season but the fact is he's taken Blackpool to the Premier League, small team or not, he got them to the highest level of English football. He then took them to the play off finals after their relegation season when no one thought they could get anywhere close and he's on the verge of taking Palace their too. Most teams in this league would seriously consider him and whilst he is a jester in front of the media, he does a job and he does it effectively.

You've not seen an improvement in Morgan since his Forest days? De Laet, James and Drinkwater all look much better players than the ones than joined us too, to me. King has really developed over the last few months and Schmeichel is a far better keeper than when he arrived from Leeds. I'm surprised people can't see the makings of an excellent side with a couple of experienced additions next season.

To be honest, Morgan has always been a good defender and amongst the Championship's best. Schmiechel was also pretty well rounded as a goalkeeper and he hasn't improved where he needs to, which is his distribution. King has come on strong but I'm not sure how we can comment on De Laet, James and Drinkwater, as we'd not exactly seen much of them prior to arriving and it may just be a case of settling in rather than development as players. I do think we have the makings of a good squad but I don't think Pearson has necessarily made them better players.

We've had some shockers, that's for sure - but only one useless feck has overseen our relegation to the third tier for the one and only time in our history

We were extremely unlucky to go down that season.

No we weren't. We were absolutely feckin' awful. Beyond awful, to be honest

It does, actually. He was a clueless, incompetent gimp

Most teams in this league would seriously consider him .

Only the bang average, or really, really shit ones

We had a good side, up until Feb, we looked like we had a real chance, what changed?

All those players you have listed started the season very well and they have gone backwards since Jan/Feb, apart from James, I will agree he has improved.

Thank you Homer. I may reply in full later but that will more than suffice for now.

EDIT - King and James have been almost faultless over the past 5-6 games.

I thought Holloway's suggestion was bad enough but to say these 2 should be replaced makes Greg come across as sane.

Absolute madness of the highest order.
