I can. I don't think he has a scout of his own choice at Stabæk and didn't need one as Egypt or US Coach. He might be happy with the set-up already in place.

But that's all speculation, as everything else regarding LCFC at the moment.

To be fair I thought it was more obvious than that

It's only been 9 days - everyone's acting like it's been months.

Irrespective of the circumstances of NP's departure, it's clear that a) the owners decided that he could no longer continue and b) they didn't have a replacement. Not that b) really matters once they've decided NP wasn't the right man.

And I'd still rather they took their time and got the right person in.

I know this is all wild speculation but hey that's what these type of forums is all about.

I can't help wonder whether the Bangkok incident is still involved with all of this and the owners could be looking for a way out.

When we take the blue tinted glasses off and look at the facts - the value of LCFC even with the new TV package is significantly less than the King Power brand. Do we even make a profit?

Owners buy our PL clubs for a variety of reasons. Many US owners realise that the value in broadcasting has only just started as things move to the Internet.

I dont know whether King Power are in it for that. King Power's business model is intrinsically linked to the Thailand tourist economy and the Thai royal family. They need the royal warrant to open more airport shops and tourists to come through the gates to spend money.

The Thai authorities have openly stated they want more competition for duty free shops beyond the KP monopoly. At the same time KP want to expand throughout Asia

LCFC will forever be linked to an unsavoury incident that highlights the seedier side of Thailand the authorities do not want to promote.

Is it possible Vichai will want to disconnect himself and his business (that he built from nothing) away from any possible reference to the incident and LCFC to protect much bigger business interests.

Or even perhaps he's been told to by the provinces power brokers.

Just a theory to throw out there

I don't understand why people are so bothered about this. At some point, someone will get the gig. We can judge whoever it is from the 8th August.

What's apparent from the last week is that, right now, nobody outside of those that matter have the faintest idea who it will be.

Quite right too.

If, as we assume, the decision to sack Pearson was a moral one, then I think we can expect that at some point they will realise that their morals are incompatible with professional football in this day and age.

Indeed this may be having an impact on our recruitment. If the owners are telling candidates that they want someone to prevent such instances, I imagine they are learning that no manager is willing to take on that responsibility.

It appears that Cambiasso is out of the running as his brother has confirmed that he's only interested in playing.

Shame.
