My youngest daughters life was saved about 14 years ago just before her 1st Birthday because of the Leeds Heart Unit and the help of the Sheffield Childrens Hospital, so I for one am not happy with the closure. The way me and my wife were able to stay in the special unit on hand whilst she recovered was such a relief.
She is now fit and well and doing great representing Wales High School at Netball in a team that won the Rotherham Trophy and being picked by the Northern Ballet in Leeds to go for audition to go to full time college there. Without that unit being there she possibly could have died and if there is no such unit in future other than in Liverpool Newcastle or Birmingham then I feel sorry for any parent who has to go through what we went through only for their child to die because they lived too far away.

The fight goes on though.
