Its a strange world is football - Peter Taylor was the worst manager we have had - tho CL not much better - but we have to acknowledge that other people have continued to have confidence in him.

I sometimes wonder if he made all his major mistakes here and other clubs will benefit from his experience....and his function as a half-decent coach.

Don't forget the Board's responsibility in the fiasco that was Peter Taylor's sojourn at the club - they allowed it to happen!

And there are many who would also disagree with you on whether he was our worst manager - but then they were around in the days of McLintock and of Pleat.

I have always said that not only Elsom but the rest of the board should be collectively blamed for allowing Peter Taylor to play on the motorway.

Regretably, I was around in Pleat and McLintock's times and even more regretably well before that....in fact back to the unlikely named Norman Bullock's time and if you check the record books, he did exist!

Taylor IMO was the worst because he dissipated money on a scale unparalled in the club's history and wrecked in no time all the good work of MON. Mclintock had a wretched time, but he inherited an ageing side from the excellent Jimmy Bloomfield (who was sacked in the most outrageous circumstances). Pleat was ineffective at City - but again the scale of his difficulties do not compare.

I think there is a case for bad managers having their 'licence' to manage suspended for a time and i think Taylor qualified in that category for his mismanagement of LCFC. That said, I am not vindictive and have no problem with the likes of him, Wise, McGhee or anyone else going on to achieve success elsewhere.

Well Reditch, I've been around a long time too but McLintock has to be the worst for me, followed by Taylor. The real killer with Taylor was the financial waste coupled with relegation. Yes, I blame the Board but I can't forgive PT as he was arrogant with it.

I'm very dubious of his coaching skills. Remember at the time Stef Oakes was a big hope; he regressed quite appallingly under T****r. Savage and Impey were the only players who looked like they were in any way improved, and that didn't last long.

i remember someone on the inside telling me that when basset and adams took over they couldn't believe how unfit the squad was.

I remember that too....What a knob.

According to Teamtalk Paper talk, in today's Daily Star it is being reported that Charlton are set to name Taylor as their new manager within the next 48 hours.

How to undo 15 years of work in One season...I can't think of a better way than appointing that cock!

Junior Lewis is going to get his chance to shine in the prem again!

Unbelievable the similarities to when Taylor was appointed at Leicester, cannot believe they are going to make the same mistakes.

Well Taylor can make a cheap first purchase....

...Benjy has been given a free 2 years before his contract expires at Posh
