Premier League suspended until April (or whenever?)

I'm loving how these scenarios turn out.

If we can get Villa and WHam relegated and us going on a European tour then i'll crack out the ****ing party poppers.

In reality there is no way they will allow Wet Spam to go down.
I can imagine Sheffield United thinking that they’d be happy to vote for that scenario.

Who won't let West Ham go down?

They are pretty unpopular among the other owners (including our own) for multiple reasons. As the Premier League is a cartel, I wouldn't expect anyone to shed a tear about them.

Aren't we likely to still be paying Puel?
Most of the time when the manager takes a new job his previous club no longer has to pay him, that’s why managers will sit out, to make sure they get all their money owed

Still think the leagues will attempt (and ultimately, fail) to put on events behind closed doors.

I'm certain one of them is.

There's not much call for Newport v Walsall on TV, so I suspect that won't be one of the leagues and a decision will come pretty soon.

There's a fair bit of TV money behind the Premier League still being completed, even behind closed doors, as you say. I suspect a decision on this league will be left until the last possible second.

Totally agree. It's a lot of money so I think they'll want to ensure they grab any chance of continuing.

Plus I think the social outcomes of having some football on will help people mentally. A bit of relative normality and something to look forward to.

It's all a bit war-time ish isn't it? The little things like football can bring so much back. I know it would make a huge difference to a lot of people I know.

I reckon we pick up where we left off.. next year. No promotions or relegations nor cup competitions at all this season.

I don't reckon anything will be going on this (calendar) year in any sport/event so everything on hold until Feb (or whenever it was) 202. Finish the 2019/20 season then. Everyone has a year off. Sorted. Next.

I reckon lockdown may well be eased as the year continues but there'll be no mass gatherings permitted for a good while. I just wish the 'Tour de France' (different subject, I know) would stop fannying around, face facts and stop the pretence - call the damned thing off now and be done with it.

It would cost them more money to do that, which is what will drive the decision making, when they can start playing again.
