Puel out?

m afraid after watching a live feed of today the comments on here are totally justified.

Morgan being played in a 4 is paramount to cruelty. He is lunging and tackling last ditch as his pace and positional sense has gone. In a 5 he can be carried, in a 4, forget it.

As soon as he got the yellow he should have been replaced.

Playing players out of position and playing other players out of position in their place is ****ing ludicrous.

I particularly watched Maddison and Vardy today. We have managed to completely nullify both of their threat and it is criminal.

We are screaming for a back 5 and Puel insists on ignoring the ****ing obvious.

I have defended him to the hilt as I believe s manager should be given time.

Claude, please **** off as your time is up.

Welcome to the dark side. You’ll like it here.

I know we can't live in the past (Morgan is proving that at the moment) but it does seem to me that Puel is fixated on a system and is trying to put square pegs in round holes just to keep his favorites in the side and ignoring some quality players in the squad to do so. There is obviously something gone on with simpson and I have no idea what albrighton has to do to get a start. Surely Maddison in the middle and albrighton on the left. In 2015 we were playing with two attack minded full backs in Shlupp and Delat. Ranieri brought in Simpson and fuchs to tighten up the defence and the rest is history. I think Chigwell is quality but Amarty is no RB but could do job in a back three. I like what he is trying to do with youth etc but It is not working and if he does not see this and adapt then I will soon lose patience.

Struggling to see why Amartey is being singled out following yesterday's game personally. He was turned by a moment of brilliance from Bernard, but that aside, I'm not sure he was that bad personally.

He's a perfectly decent right back for us and I don't think he did much wrong yesterday.

My issue is that we have someone who has proven himself to be much better in that position sitting in the stands. And also that the man that Puel recruited to play in that position cannot defend to save his life.

It’s no coincidence at all that virtually every team we have played this season have targeted our RHS. We are exposed time and again and yesterday was the same.

Both their goals were high quality in my opinion and even a good right back and cover may not have been able to stop the run that created the cross for the first goal.

Everton are a very good unit and I’m afraid on yesterday’s showing will finish north of us.

Puel needs to forget four at the back and/or remove Morgan from it. Arsenal will murder us at their gaff playing a four although the omission of Morgan is a bonus.

Playing Maddison out of position is making my head hurt.

I am on the fence, like some of the things Puel has bought to the club, we have become more possession based, more of a focus on young players and long term I like the vision however my concerns are despite spending big on 3 new centre halves he still proceeds to select Wes Morgan, we look a soft touch at the start of matches, we are conceding first and early in games far too often and yet we seem incapable of addressing this and finally the ill discipline within the squad, this is a tough tough league and we cannot continue gifting sides the lead and also having players sent off as regularly as we are, 3 red cards in 8 league games is unacceptable. The final point, he insists on playing 4-2-3-1 and all last season we were crying out for a natural No 10 to make the system click, we sign Maddison who is perfect for the role, has a decent start to the season but is now being moved out wide and we run the risk of nullifying our most creative outlet.

My concern with Puel is that he is a soft touch, the slow starts and poor discipline are aspects he should address but doesn't seem to be having the required impact, the continued reluctance to call time on Morgan's role as a starter also shows a lack of ruthlessness and raises doubts as to whether he really is the man to take us forward to where the owners want us to be.

However if we are to replace him, it has to be someone who is committed to developing young players, produce a playing style that is possession based but with a high tempo and intensity and finally has the ruthlessness to call time on careers when required regardless of past achievements. The big question is there anybody out there with those credentials .........

Amartey was poor yesterday. He looked frightened to death every time Bernard or anyone ran at him. His positioning was also suspect. I do think he could be a half decent RB for us but not in this defensive line up. At the moment we have 3 out of 4 defenders that can't really defend that well and this is having an effect on Maguire who is having to try and tidy up time after time. Everyone knows what the answer is. Well, I say everyone.....there's this little French guy you see......

Watching a stream yesterday made it clearer to me than in the flesh.

We have some exceptional players who are being used so poorly that they are becoming bang average at best.

We should be tearing a new arsehole to all but the top 5-6 teams week in, week out.

I wouldn’t swap our team for virtually any other in this league bar perhaps Man City and Liverpool.

We have the same(ish) quality in our team as Spurs, Arsenal and perhaps Chelsea but ****ing hell aren’t we making life hard for ourselves?

Conceited or what?

I can’t understand how us being more possession based is:

a) Bettter for the team, or
b) A sign of good management

We had more possession than Everton. With that possession we had less shots, less shots on target, less corners, and all importantly; less goals.

I am STILL not quite ready to join the "Puel out" contingent but, if the remarks quoted in the Observer claiming that Wes was unlucky (both times that he was dismissed) and that he is likely to return to the team immediately after suspension, have any validity; then I am wavering.

There is a fine line between sticking to one's guns and simply being stubborn, and Claude is in danger of crossing it.

Clearly all we need to do is watch the stream, it’s clearer than in the flesh.

Also, actually, Everton worked out our weakness was mainly Morgan and the gap between Maguire and Chilwell...
