Unfortunately, Megson is not going to be a "God".

In my opinion, this is a very unwise appointment indeed. No one else in this division would have given him the manager's job and he only has it because Milan has built such a reputation for being unreasonable that better candidates did not want the job.

This is not very nice but it is the grim reality. The lack of enthusiasm for Megson has got nothing to do with him being ex-Forest per se. It is because he was a disaster at the Forest and everyone knows that. Prior to that he had a reputation for fairly effective but unattractive football.

I can understand how we have got into this situation but I think the outlook for this season is bleak. In effect, Milan has dissipated his limited resources on a very mixed bunch of signings some of whom are apparantly from (lack of) selection totally unfit for purpose; he has appointed and dismissed one very enthusiastic manager who apparantly created unnecessary problems by upsetting everyone; he has appointed and dismissed after a couple of minutes a 'director of sport' and now has appointed a new manager who no one else would touch. The comings and goings continue as does the pattern of results with us standing 17th in the league (broadly where we were last season and the season before); having won one league game; having played more home than away games; having taken a magnificent 1 point from home games against the might of Blackpool and QPR; having been outplayed by Accrington Stanley.

No - I'm not very convinced about the way things are going and predict another long, fairly miserable season.

Thats about spot on for me.

Bang on the money Redditch.

But I expect a lot of responses to this along the lines of "FFS give him a chance blah blah blah let's wait until we're in league one before criticising him blah blah get behind the manager or you're bad supporter blah blah"

It seems that some on here cannot differentiate between being critical & having an opinion and just offering blind support.

All i'm getting at is the fact that Megson has been written off by the majority of our fickle fans before he has been given a chance.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but I don't think it's good to have to have all this negativity and bad feeling around the place, when in fairness he's got a home point, more than MA2 managed to achieve in his 1st game.

Megson's time at Forest wasn't great, but look where they are now. So is it Megson or is it just the fact they are SHIT ???

If you and the rest want to continue to barrack him, then thats up to you, but IMO it's wrong and undeserved.

I can understand their attitude Macky because it is comforting to suspend all objectivity and just bathe in blind support with complete lack of critical judgement.

Pessimists/ realists like us could be wrong, but i doubt it very much.

So far - under Milan there has been a succession of misjudgements. I was totally in favour of his take over and still prefer him to what went before but I have to say he has hardly inspired with his decisions to - date.

I hear what he says about not being afraid to change things till he gets them right, but at a practical level if he continues to get things right how long will he be able to dish the cash to put them right?

all you do macky is f^cking moan.
your support of this club is questionable.any guest from another club looking on this site is probably laughing their balls off at the tone of your criticism.ffs its only a sport, its a football team, chill out,and give the club a chance.

What is fickle about having an opinion on the merits of the bloke as a football manager - particularly one appointed by the club we support

How is that 'fickle' in any way ??

Are we not allowed to voice an opinion on the appointment of a manager without being labelled fickle or moaning, or god knows what else ?

It's pathetic :icon_roll

And as soon as you say it, Macky, someone comes along to prove your point perfectly :icon_roll

The problem is that the takeover was seen as a chance to turn things round after a long, miserable spell and it was a great opportunity.

People are understandably disappointed by what has happened particularly as Milan has spent a lot of money.

I suspect that had you been told last January that we would have Gary Megson managing the club by September that you would not have been too pleased.

Sorry Biff - I will have to keep my lottery numbers to myself otherwise it would reduce my share of the winnings!

On your other point about supporters of other clubs laughing at us because of the criticism on our web sites.......don't you understand that the reason we are a bit of a joke is because the Megson appointment doesn't seem to chime with all the previous hype about the club moving forward?

Look, you could be right, Megson could prove a big success. If so we will all be more than happy. But I think the odds are against it.

I have already said that I was uninspired at the very least at Megson's appointment. I think it was a pretty desperate appointment that was accepted by a man who was on the managers' scrapheap.

Milan, nor anybody else though can expect any fan to be patient when the chairman shows none himself. With his statement that he would hire and fire 20 managers in order to reach the Premiership Milan has effectively opened the door for the, already impatient, fans to demand results.

Whatever anybody says about MA2 and the shenannigans of his departure, they surely must admit that whilst he was at the club we all seemed to be pulling in the same direction. Regardless of results and targets I thought that that was a massive positive effect on a club that has been dwindling in the lower reaches of this division for too long now. Even this place was a pleasant place to come and talk haha!

Now it seems to have reverted back to the split opinions, back biting, and feelings of desperation at a season that could well now go tits up. Granted it could well go the other way too but there is now a pressure there on the new manager that is going to make his job far rougher than MA2's ever would have been.

That said, I will reserve judgement on Megson for now and continue to support Leicester, perhaps more through blind faith than anything else. But the results need to come soon as now he doesn't just have Milan breathing down his neck, but also 30,000 City fans.

I'm not even sure that you know what fickle means. Fickle: Inconsistant in feeling (Heinemann English Dictionary.

It seems to me that the people that you lumber with the label are being extremely consistant in their feeling that Ginge is not fit for the job.

HAHA, brilliant, right on cue.

I really don't think that's the reason other supporters are laughing at us Biff.

*note to self* I'm a bad, bad supporter, must try harder, one day I'll be as good a supporter as Biff because he's much better than me. Bad Macky, bad Macky.

doesent bother me who he chooses as manager, its his club, his money, his decision, not yours, not mine.
lcfc are in the entertainment buisness, and agreed its been hard to sit through some performances recently.but im opptomistic that we will turn it around, and when we do the feeling will be great for all connected with the club.
what gets my blood boiling and im allowed my opinion is so called fans, instead of getting behind the club, spewing out such hatred towards individuals and the club in general.if you think you know how to run a sucssesful football team, i suggest you buy one, and prove that you are as good and as knowledgeable about the game as you make out in your posts.

from time to time i will have a (measured) moan at some decisions the club, manager, chairman might do that i dont agree with.
what i dont do is go on and on and on for days on end moaning like you .
macky you moan about appointments, performances individuals every week.and then when you get a buddy to moan with (like redittch fox) you go on moaning even more, moan ,moan moan, moan moan.

you are a bad supporter in my mind because a good supporter gives support, all you do is make this bad period we are going through worse with your know it all reasons why the club is struggling.

get together with redittch, get a football team of your own and show me how good you are.
