Apparently it was a nice flick on for one of Southampton's goals though. :icon_roll

Holloway Linked To Connolly

Plymouth Argyle defender Paul Connolly is attracting interest from Championship clubs Charlton Athletic and Leicester City.

The 24-year old right-back is out of contract in the summer but could leave Argyle during the January transfer window if the right offer materialised.

Connolly has played 158 games for the Pilgrims since coming through the Argyle youth system and according to a national newspaper both Leicester and Charlton could be about to make a move for the Liverpool-born player.

Former Argyle boss Ian Holloway, now at Leicester, will know all about Connolly and his wage demands and would be favourite to sign him. The sale of Connolly would leave the Home Park club without a recognised right-back in the squad following the sale of Dan Gosling to Everton last week.

Just a thought but if the rumours are true about Greg Halford being sacked by Sunderland, I wonder whether Keane would reignite his interest in Stearman. He made a bid last season and just wonder whether a straight swap with Fulop could be a solution :102:

Now that would be a good deal

a swap of fulop for stearman would seem like a criminal act. i really don't see why a player who struggles in the championship would attract so much interest from premier league teams

Is he?
Anyone can make up a rumour like that and put it on a website. Wait until he actually signs him before using it as an excuse to have a go at the manager. There are far better reasons to criticise him than to use rumours from dodgy websites.

Can you stop being rational and talking sense, you'll never fit in around here.

You will of course be using similar rationale for those offering unconditional support to IH. :icon_bigg :icon_wink

Yes.

My reason for saying we should stick with IH at the moment is not because I think he''s doing a good job, but because I believe we need stability - and I've been saying that since last season.
Changing managers all the time doesn't work, do people really think anyone better will want to come here if we sack IH?

We don't know yet if he will be any good for us, but I'm confident that sticking with him will be better than getting rid and having to go through the whole process again, leaving us with even more players the new man doesn't want, the players even more confused about a new style of play, and fans unrealistically expecting instant success, putting more pressure on everyone.

He's made mistakes, and our form is rubbish, but I don't think getting rid will improve things.

Hate to say this Jeff, but

I agree with everything you just said. :icon_wink

i think holloway is a breath of fresh air.

he has realised quickly what a pile of poo he has to work with.

the trouble is now, that the january window has become a big gamble.

getting the right players in,is one thing ,but also getting the 'new' team to gel quickly is another.
