Rodgers future...

That’s an extrapolation. Spending money that they can afford to spend on whatever, is no indication of their commitment to their profession.
It is when they are in the casino until the early hours when they have training the next day and in Barnes case he is still not fully back to his best after injury.

I do not agree that Brendan should just be sacked, unless there is a succession plan in place for a manager who wants to be here and who is perceived to have better qualties/abilities than Brendan.
So, what needs sorting?
Zonal marking defending is not working. Why does he not change that?
A few matches ago we played brilliantly with a high press. Why can we not do that every game?
Energy levels are low. Why are we losing fitness? Have the coaches gone soft on training?
We seem to have more injuries than in previous seasons. Was sacking Rennie the cause of that? Are there no other good physios/medics in the country available?

I find it hard to believe that the cause of all the injuries is simply a case of accidentally employing a 1700s pirate surgeon as our physio.

We've made two major errors with BR.

The first was allowing him to appoint his friend to head up our recruitment when all available evidence showed that he wasn't up to the job.

The second was giving him a massive salary increase putting him at a level way beyond our other salaries.

Both decisions were presumably made to make BR happy here. The senior management team at the club (Top, Whelan and Rudkin) basically went 'all in' on BR. To be fair to them, this seemed a smart move up to and including the FA Cup final win.

But this was never going to last forever. BR has a history of doing a great job for a couple of years and then it starts to slide. His messages to players and fans work for about that long. Then we all start to see through it and recognise that his ability as a manager is fundamentally limited.

So now we're into late stage BR with massive money committed and no Plan B. The senior management of the club don't speak publically so all we get is BR and his increasingly bewildering waffle.

This is the time when we really miss a strong leader of the type Vichai was.

Well. Half of the formula has been completed. OGS has been sacked. Now it gets interesting as to what, if anything, happens with BR.

Is he stunned if Utd stump for Rodgers. And if they do it’ll be after a couple of unsuccessful runs at other options, which is just going to be an enormous disruption for us.

Have we learned nothing?

If we change manager every time that we hit a poor patch, we will get nowhere and anyway, who do we anticipate taking the job? The two names that I have heard are Frank Lampard, a great player but unproven as a manager or Graham Potter whose teams play attractive football, but hardly set this division alight.

Either might come here and do a wonder job, but there is nothing to suggest this to be more than a hope. I fear we may change to another Puel type manager and become a team that is satisfied to retain its Premier League status.

I think some of us need a reality check instead of acting like spoilt children. I’m as disappointed as anyone with our form of late and the performances of the players and some of the decisions of the manager.

However, he is dead right about us having over achieved in recent seasons. With the players we have been able to afford we have definitely done better than could have reasonably been expected. He is also right to express his disappointment with the fans for not getting behind the team when it is clearly going through a difficult time. Nothing wrong with hearing an honest assessment even if the truth is unpalatable to some.

An honest assessment from the manager would be very welcome.

“Yes, we clearly have a massive problem defending set-pieces and we’ve had the problem for far too long, without me setting the team up to defend them any differently.”

“We don’t have the quality to continually try to play out from the back. On far too many occasions we give possession away and more of them than not it does lead to an attack, for the opposition.”

“Sometimes I pick completely bizarre lineups and over complicate the tactics to where the players aren’t sure what they’re supposed to be doing.”

“The majority of the signings the club have made during my time in charge have not been successful.”

“Our home record is not good enough.”

Any of these assessments from the manager would understandably be unpalatable to him, but would be honest.

We appear to already have a Puel type manager and, based on his insane ****witted post match comments, he appears to believe that staying in the Premier League is where we are actually at as a Club

Sorry but if Rodgers goes to Utd and takes Congerton with him, that will probably work out for us long time.
Obviously, we were overachieving anyway. No other manager could win anything decent with this club. Oh wait….

I’m sure he’s a nice bloke and he means well but Jesus wept what a dipshit, just got to remind yourself that he’s not paid to know stuff just encourage reactions I guess..
