An interview with SSN ....

Something along the lines of, 'Looking likely Southampton were going down and he intended to take some of Saints players he knew well into the Leicester City set up for next season'

That seems a completely unlike Pearson thing to say that!!

Didn't West Ham Uniteds parent company go into admin? If so then they must also be docked points?

There's a reference to it on the 606 site. There seems to have been some discussion about NP returning there as manager (ffs). It appears that somebody is feeling that the only reason he would return to Southampton would be to raid the club for some decent players and has imaginatively reported that he heard it on SSN.

They are technically not in administration due to the intricacies of Icelandic law, according to a summariser on talksport who spent 10 minutes explaining the difference between Saints and West Ham yesterday.

Saints will start life in div 1 with -10 points .........................oh dear .................

Points deduction is not a fair way to punish a team. It punishes fans far more than the directors who will still sit in padded seats and still be pampered from start to finish.

I'm not sure whether a points deduction is designed to punish anybody at all. It's simply a token to put a club in the position that they might have been in had they not bought players and paid wages that they can't afford. The fans have had more than they deserve for a while - this evens things up a little.

that does not explain why Luton are where they are.

Wanted them to go down on the last day of the season with Le Tissier watching it/summarising whilst on Sky Sports Soccer Special

points last season which put them down and then 30 points this season.

They should have just relegated them there and then if they wanted rid of them.

That would have been against the rules.
