Dreadful game, dreadful spectacle, freezing cold, windy - but the priceless 3pts are all that matters...........performance irrelevant but I thought Hendrie and Mattock were fantastic and the new lad Bell did Ok........

Where did the officials get 5 mins stoppage time from???? Just plonkers the lot of them!

Just OK? I thought Bell was very good and gave us some much needed width on the right hand side.

As long as he doesn't do a Hungarian on us meaning that was his only good game for us then I think he'll be a very decent signing for us in the long-term.

One thing I do no understand though...

Why does the whole team bunch over the one side of the field when we are taking a goal kick? There is at least half a pitch they don't seem to use when this happens and it's damn annoying. If we had done that at school we'd have been told off!

I keep hoping that Stearman will race off to the right wing to receive the ball from a crafty ploy with Hendo and be left unopposed to run through on goal.

I'm glad we won obviously, sat in the executive boxes though so the atmoshphere wasn't upto much. I'm still not sure on our safety yet, i think the Colchester and the Barnsley games will be crucial.

Bell was Man of the Match for me. Can beat players, got some decent crosses in and worked extremely hard as well. :038:

One of the best things about today was that we went out and battled and scrapped to win a game we knew we had two. A two or three goal win wouldn't have flattered.

i thought leicester were good today,it was never going to be a spectacle.

stearman, hendrie, mcauley, bell and howard all had decent games.

the only worry was when kisnorbo fell a sleep on a couple of occasions.

dreading next week, just hope with hendrie out, wesolowski and oakley can shake of there injuries

Lacklustre performance for me. Some of them didn't want to play or battle. I did think Bell, Weso, Fryatt all wanted to win. However all three were 'trying to hard'. Also Hendries raises a mention for much needed 'drive'.

The only quality move of the game brought a goal.

5 more of those will do.

I know, but it still limits our midfield options. Weso IMO still has not got a clue, and worries me big time when he plays.

I agree with that, weso was poor and although i thought n'gotty did ok i don't think he should be in midfield. Maybe King?

I think Fryatt should be shot for his misses, i still think he's poor. His closing down was good though. I'm happy we won though and would take that performance again.

Oh yes Weso was poor, only slid in with a tremendous tackle which led to our goal on the break.

What game did you people see?

Great display from the young aussie.

Fryatt was poor today. Slow and sluggish, often appearing like he was running in treacle. Should have put away the header from 4 yards in the second half, but hit the keeper when it was easier to score. Took up the wrong positions to feed off the knock downs from Howard today.

Bell had a nervy first 5 minutes, but came on in leaps and bounds, and can cross the ball really well. I am sure Steve Howard will be looking forward to that.

I know this is unpopular, but I thought Dickie Stearman played well today. Struck up an immediate understanding with Bell on the right.

Stearman was one of our best players today. He's been a different player under Holloway. :038:

Thought Stearman had a very decent game , along with Mattock

Lacklustre? Stearman's tackle which resulted in their player being substituted was anything but. A great effort given the circumstances.

Fryatt played well in the last 10 minutes, the rest of the time pointless. Hangs on to the ball way too long when we're moving forward. Kisnorbo had a shocker and Hendo is too hesitant behind the defence. Howard or Hendrie man of the match. Bell had a great game once over his nerves. Felt a bit sorry for Weslowski and Oakley at times in the first half as the ball was spending too much time in the air. Clemence looked a touch of class for two minutes and left.

Did anybody count how many MEANINGFUL shots Scunthorpe had on target? I reckon none.

Sorry to disagree with most of you, but hey, do I mean that honestly? No. Do I bolleaux.

Most people have an issue with Matty Fryett, in that he doesn't appear to do much. Actually, he does. He has the fastest feet I've seen for a long time (reputedly, ahem, this stands him in good stead with the casino ladees, as you know what they say about feet and certain types of acumen). Today Matty played a great game. Don't factor in when he you think he falls asleep. So did Gary Lineker. It's a feature of some types of strikers. But they get there. Sometimes on time. He did OK today.

Bell was adequate, better in the second half. In the first half his corners were appalling.

Hendrie was passionate. Good on him. That's what we need, and although you're all going to shout me down, and why not, Hume has got this same NSD (Never Say Die) attitude.

Stearman, I thought, had his best game for a long time, and Kisnorbo, his worst.

But what the hell? We won.

Let's be thankful for pitiful mercies.

We survived today, in a game of inaccurate and dreadful head tennis and nasty winds, and two major bleeding incidents.

Thank the Lord.

<and at this point let us all do corporate genuflexions, whatever our gods>

We won.

We won.

exactly what i said after the game, i thought bell liked good too. but our full backs really carried us at times, especially when the game opened up abit, stearz did well for the goal and mattock, imo, has gone from a bit of a raw talent to a reliable full back, it can be a thankless job at times, but today, thank **** for our full backs :038:
