I always find it amusing when clearly average/poor players stomp their feet and whinge until they get presented with the opportunity to **** off. I'm glad Nige didn't pussyfoot around him if his attitude is as poor as it is reputed to be.

So why the feck is Beckford still here then?

Beckford has a great attitude around the training ground from what I've heard, he isn't sulking or causing any problems just trying to get on with it, things aren't working for him at the moment but he's being professional.

Im baffled at how could anybody could question Beckfords attitude without being on the training ground week in week out.

It's his ability that needs questioning!

To me he seems to be trying TOO hard if anything. Overunning things, snatching at chances and over complicating things. All the signs of a player without confidence.

Some people - including Alan Young - seem to think that he needs to be running around making lunging tackles and goal line clearances.

He isn't a Waghorn so he won't run around like a kid on E numbers.

Pretty much sums up how I see him.

No we don't. We just want to see him bothered to run into a channel to receive a pass or, when we don't have the ball, appear to care enough to put some pressure on the opposition players. Not too much to ask is it?

It is if he's not that sort of player.

I really do think some people would be happy to see us lose 4-0 every weekend as long as players 'try hard' or throw themselves about the pitch achieving nothing.

It's about overall team performance and results.

This season, unfortunately, should be viewed as a total write-off and we should build a squad capable of challenging for a promotion place from now to this August.

The appalling recruitment decisions made in the summer have proved to be crippling.

But he is that sort of player, his game as based around running into the space, especially the channel.

Of which Beckford appears to be the one that is crippling us. He does not seem to gel/fit in with any of our strikers or midfield. Although encouraged by the fans and players to run around a bit, create space, run a channel, track back to help defend or put pressure on their attack, apparently he is 'not that sort of player'. So what fecking sort of player is he for Chr*st's sake?

He does not run, defensively tackle, head a ball, track back, chase a ball to the dead ball line, tackle a defender to get the ball back or score goals. What is the fecking point in having him on the pitch? We get more opportunities created for others, and a lot more pressure on their defence from 15 minutes of Steve Howard on the pitch than 90 mins of Beckford wandering around in a semi-coma.

This is not a nervous 18 year old from the academy. He has been playing with the big boys for a long time now. If the guy has suddenly developed 'confidence' issues, loan him out to Grimsby or anywhere. If he legally cannot move, send him off to get his coaching badges, make him a UNICEF ambassador, just do not put him on the pitch. He is a fecking waste of space!

I think, sadly, that there are too many Leicester fans who are at their happiest being negative and would be severely inconvenienced were we to put together a winning team.

The consensus view seems to be that our players are rubbish and should all be ditched in favour of a mythically successful eleven BUT, that any manager who tries to bring in more than 2-3 players, in any particular transfer window, is a fool.

The decisions that brought us Kasper, Konchesky, Peltier, Danns, Nugent and, slightly earlier, Bamba have been crippling? Of the permanent signings, the only ones I think people can possible have complaints over are Beckford, Mills and Paintsil.

Really? REALLY? One player, who has barely had any pitch time, let alone starts, is the crippling factor? He was responsible for the performances against Peterborough and Portsmouth? Honestly? Wow.

But he is that sort of player, his game as based around running into the space, especially the channel.

Rather unwise at this time of year I would have thought.

Totally disagree. I think Sven brought in a pool of mostly very good championship players, Bamba and Schmeichel being the outstanding acquisitions. Paradoxically the most expensive players, Mills and Beckford have disappointed the most. Any combination of Peltier, Mills, Bamba, Konchesky, SSL (before bust-up), Pantsil and Tunchev will make an impressive back four. I have no problem with the strength and speed and stamina of Abe, Danns and Johnson in the middle. Ball looked skillful but I am unsure if he is fit. Dyer and Gallagher are still very good players. King and Wellens are not as good this year as last. Wellens has often appeared to be more of a liability this year with slowing the game down. Nugent was an excellent buy. Vassell was always a very powerful asset through the middle until his injury. Schlupp was also an emerging talent until his injury. I am on record that Beckford is a waste of space, but overall I think we have a talented squad of players that I think just needs the addition of a powerful striker that can head a ball and a fast, powerful winger to complement Dyer, and maybe cover for Bamba if Tunchev is not yet 100%. Not to mention Moussa, Moore, Kennedy and Taft waiting in the wings. Even Berner is probably still good as an emergency defender.

And of course the talents of a manager that can get the best from a good squad of players, such as a certain MON is currently doing at Sunderland!

Beckford for England!!

Oh and good luck to SSL - guaranteed to score against us now and will probably turn out to be one of the top performers in the Euros this summer too.

The SSL situation looked problematic from the start. It was on the cards that he wasn't going to get a regular starting place and given his need to play to retain his international place I could see it would end in tears - and quickly. I always thought that Sven was trying to run the club as if he was managing an international team and was way out of touch with this league. As to the other Sven signings some are good and others not good. I suspect that a common feature is that the owners have paid over the odds in terms of wages and fees - but we have seen that they are working against a backgound where it isn't easy to get good players to sign for the club without throwing money around. There is so much money sloshing around in the Premier League that that is ythe only place where players want to be. The Beckford situation hasn't worked out - and I doubt if it will now, but other clubs have also come badly unstuck on signing strikers. At least Pearson seems to be grounded in reality. Unfortunately, many fans are going to find it a bit painful accepting that reality.
